Post subject:  Mike Murphy Cub Scoops!
I don't know who is listening on Saturday mornings lately but this guy has Cub news I don't hear or read anywhere else. Yesterday he said again that Theo Epstein makes the lineups out for EVERY team in the orgginization daily. Why doesn't anybody on the beat or other radio stations follow up with that and ask Theo,Jud or Renteria??

He also said the John Kruk-looking kid the Cubs drafted first who can hit but can't field is because Theo is secretly campaigning to bring the DH to the National League.

This is interesting stuff,true or not. I wish someone in the media would follow up on it!!

Uh oh. I'm sure there are many Cub fans who don't mind the planned losing who will be outraged at Theo for removing all the strategy from the game. You've gone too far, Epstein!

I am fine with Theo messing with lineups during tryouts.

Once again, not expecting this bullshit next year.

And I think Murphs contacts are the same reporters you wish would follow up on the same stories they are giving murph, because Murph has ZERO connections inside the cubs organization. Going to say the only person he knows, doesnt even like him.

I also know Epstein would give Francona lineups every day in Boston, but in most cases, it wasn't a single lineup. It was a few.

1 more team or 1 less team? have to even that out.

If they lose a team MLBPA will need to have another roster spot. could then see the DH coming in and Rosters to 26, while TB goes away.

Radio guys and their "inside sources" are a part of the landscape. I (or anybody) never know what to believe.

I don't think Theo really believes power is a limited resource. It was a convenient excuse in a year when home runs were down. They just don't like taking pitchers in the first round and they are sticking to it no matter the circumstances.

Exactly. Power was down last season in MLB but it looks like an anomaly as there are plenty of guys hitting the ball out of the yard this season.

In the last 7 years MLB has averaged about 4800 HR per year

The 7 roided up years before that was in the 5200 HR range.
