Post subject:  I Hate Harry

I just hate him on the radio. I hate his jock sniffing proclivities. I hate his rain man memory of the insignificant. I hate his jokes. I hate his bits. I don't understand how this hack ever had a modicum of a career in comedy. Every comedic thought he has is catskills hackey that might get a chuckle out of an old man.

I wish they would cut his show off at six so I wouldn't have to ever hear him when Score and ESPN go to commercial.

He was perfect as the 3rd man on MJH, and nothing more. Not even as a 2nd guy.

Well by perfect, I mean as in if there was no other choice.

This is pretty much how I feel about your guy meatpants.

but meatpants isn't under the delusion that he is bringing strong comedy each day. Harry really thinks he is cracking people up with that stuff.

You mean the parodies are not suppose to make us laugh?

No he is under the delusion that he is a professional musician with a hobby radio show. Meatpants really thinks people like to hear him sing on a sports radio show.

I think we are suppose to be impressed with his voice and creativity. I think he'd be offended if his parodies made you laugh, music isn't funny it's serious and because he is a douchbag.

Everything is just so planned and setup... it's not good. That goes for pretty much everything on that station, and I will add the LoHo show to the list... I may not listen to enough of the other stations to comment. But if you set up a segment, then have to say what the purpose of the segment is again for two or three times just to get calls, it is kind of stupid. Just let the show unfold, and react to what is going on.

What's your guy's getaway sports event? That's like high school/college radio. If it comes up naturally (or wink, wink, you make it appear to) during a show, that's great. If you are going to hit me over the head repeatedly with "this is the topic, please call with comments on this topic" it comes off as kind of lame.

I'm sure there are guys that plan it all out and it doesn't sound planned out, but it is terrible when they can't disguise it.

mos def.

parodies are funny when they're sung oddly/badly. he misses the point of parody songs entirely by really trying to sing them well. one of the worst examples was his parody of "rainbow connection".

I agree that his dedication to what should be his principal job is frustrating. I also agree that his artistic façade is a joke.

However, none of that makes Harry any better. Meatpants has sold more tickets as a part time musician than Harry has as a full time comedian.

In the MJH years, I though Harry at least knew he was the Fozzy bear bad joke maker

I have to get the poison out every once in a while. I hadn't heard Harry in a while so there was no build up. I have been running more and I have to hear that talentless chipmunk into the depths of my six oclock hour

Okay. What you criticize Harry for and hate about him can easily be applied to Speigel. Speigel isn't manly at all, he makes harry look like the Marlboro man.

I try to listen. I have come to the conclusion they all suck. Jarrett Payton should be happy he has a job. Spike is nothing special. It's like mixing 3 bags of fertilizer and hoping it smells like minestrone.

That's a horrible afternoon show, it shouldn't be an overnight weekend show.

Yes, it should. The irritating part is, the show following it with McKnight & Carman is much better. It's actually decent. How the fuck is that the night show while Tiny's holding down afternoons? The Game's PD must be a drunk.
