Does anyone know how much longer Stone's contract lasts. I thought he would be done at the start of the New Year.

Seeing ESPN dumped him and no one in baseball will hire him, I guess he needs the job. He's really not adding anything anymore, just his second guessing that is tiresome. He blew a great job and now his bitterness can't be hidden. Too bad.

Yeah. He's a joke. they ask him about the McCarthy trade and he says

"Well I think Kenny thinks that McCarthy is just serviceable and has a straight fast ball."

Yeah Steve. The reason you think that is because you heard the sound bite from the Score where Kenny says exacly that.

He's really not needed. He's just a wind bag.

stone was not good on ESPN he can't talk for a long time.

Stone wants the Sox gig. Simple.

he is friends with Jerry and has treid to stay on his good side.

It is a good fit, because I think Hawk would talk to Stoney unlike the DJ scenario.

I also don't blame DJ for it as he does a good job on FOX.

What is Jerry waiting for then, and you really think Hawk and Stone can work together ?

I would take Stone on the Sox in a heartbeat on either TV or radio.

I think the problem with Stone on The Score at this point is he can't believe he is still with The Score. I don't have inside info on this, but he had to believe this was a one year stop gap before another color gig. I think his analyzation of baseball is second to none, but he is mailing it in like many on The Score. He will deliver a crafted statement that will allow him to say he was right no matter what happens. It is actually an art form that has been copied to a tee by Hub. If he commits himself to the job, I would love to see him back for another year.

He's been there 2 years now. The snide routine has gotten soooo old, time to move on.

The problem with Stone is that he is great at analyzing the mechanics of the game but weak in almost all other areas. This makes him interesting in breaking down individual plays during a game or telling the audience what a player is doing correctly...in other words the perfect color analyst for a team. He is weak at looking analyzing front office moves and talking about the league generally.

In a lot of ways, he is similar to Doug.

I wish Stoney and the Cubs would bury the hatchet. A simulcasted Pat/Ron/Stoney booth would be better than Pat/Ron & Len/Bob.
