I'm listening to this guy fill in for Colin Cowherd and he is an idiot. He is mad at writers for not voting steroid guys in - classifying it as a "character issue". He says alot of voting writers are bad character guys so they are hypocrites. Here are some gems - "there were no rules in baseball against it just actual laws, so should we not let guys who are busted for speeding in the Hall?" "why not have a board of baseball people vote the guys in, not writers" EVER HEARD OF THE VETERAN'S COMMITTEE? "the judgements should be made based on stats alone not their character" Hey, idiot, people aren't upset about their moral fiber, it's the fact that their STATS are not indicative of their natural ability and thus make it impossible to compare their merit with others who did not have that competitive advantage. Writers aren't passing on them because they feel their character is flawed based on their choices. Speeders, drug addicts, etc. had minimal/no impact on the outcome of the GAMES and their STATS. Gamblers did have an impact and they are out, steroids did have an impact and should be out. That's not being hypocritical. Jag. I know nobody is probably listening to this but me, but I just had to vent. He is equally as idiotic on all the other issues he has discussed. |

I'm listening Doc, and you are absolutely right - its terrible. Did you hear the part where he calls out Bears fans for not being able to stand the cold because the NFL was concerned about giving Chicago a night game on Sunday because of the weather? Total douchebag. In the first ten minutes I wanted to stab myself in both ears with a pen. |

Yes, that fell into my "other idiotic" catch-all. I would have to cite his entire show to do an exhaustive analysis of his stupidity. Just getting Sirius, I'm new to the all-day ESPN network but now I know to get back to Mully and Hanley or flip over to NFL Network when I hear this dude. |

Cowherd is good - he can get a bit grating from time to time, but for the most part his show is really good. There is a reason this putz Kincaid is on in the middle of the night though. |

So I was completely wrong. He's not an idiot. He's a genius. His final point of the day in his "stats are all that matter" HOF rant was that he never once thought Mark McGwire was an all time great by watching him and shouldn't be in the Hall. Really? Which one of his 583 homers screamed mediocrity to you? Not impressed by his 4 consecutive seasons of 50+ home runs? Idiot. He shouldn't be in the Hall but not because he was unimpressive in the results of his play. Dufus. |

Wow... people actually go online and listen to The Herd? That speaks well for Chicago radio between 9a-noon. |

Absolutely - you think I'm listening to the abortion on MVP from 9 to noon? I'm not about to switch back and forth to get Mully and Hanley from 9-10a, plus I really like The Herd. |

You could say that the Veterans Committee does not elect anyone to the HOF as of today, they have not elected anyone to the HOF! |

They used to, but other members thought they weren't being exclusive enough and threw that committe out, reforming the current one. |
