post 'em if you listen. Best sports station morning show going. (not a lot of stiff competition)

Funny parts today about a couple suing over buying a haunted house. Jon is the best with callers.

I haven't listened much this week but always will listen to the podcast. Hoping to catch up next week. Most entertaining show on the radio.

I liked that lady that was running for Senator out of Vermont. She said she is running as an independent candidate and after she is elected, she'll go to both parties to see who wants to make her the leader, and then she'll join that party. First act as leader of that party is impeachment charges against Obama. Oh, and she's running for President in 2016. And she claims she was on the set of Thanksgiving Day starring Jonathan Brandmeier and Mary Tyler Moore.

there's gotta be more people listening than the stats show. Way more people than I thought on this very board listen.

they have no shortage of callers that's for sure.

Could be that morning ratings are really high and the rest of the day is a ghost town, averaging out to the 0.5 that ties the Game with jazz.

well, this is officially a high concept thread. Curious has posted here.

And I suppose it's possible. This guy (this guy) deserves better than this podunk station. He really is quite good.

would be logical to be on WLS. He said a week or so ago, he had "no idea" where he would be in a year.

Brandmeier in mornings, Bruce Wolf in middays, Dahl in afternoons would be solid for WLS. Cumulus has wanted to be rid of Rush Limbaugh for some time.

I've started to listen to this on my work commute. Its not bad. I could do without the parody songs, but its entertaining enough for the most part.

Bruce Wolf is good in short segments him having a show is icky. I also think I have gone 100% podcast. I am not sure Dahl wants to leave that format.

They're infinitely better than Spiegs' songs and intros. TALK TO KASPAR. At least the parody song "artist" isn't singing over his own voice like Big Purple.

I agree with the comment on Wolf. As for Dahl, he has already committed to doing afternoons at WLS (while apparently continuing his podcast in some form).
The part I don't get - and it's a repeated theme on this board - is why so many predict success for hosts who haven't had anything but marginal ratings in over a decade. :?

the only segment I caught today was a lady who mothballed her entire yard "to prevent snakes". She lives in Florida and apparently the entire neighborhood now smells like a urinal cake.

1. marginal success would be fantastic for WLS
2. I can't comment on today's show until tomorrow.

His show (and perhaps why I irrationally like it) at times is one long free form segment of "Second Hand News" only it's interrupted with callers periodically (whom I might add are treated quite deftly). It's really a good imitation of what B&B once were before Serious Radio erupted.

that's a pretty good assessment. his random calls to strangers makes me uncomfortable sometimes. almost like bob from niles.

No.

It was more like Punch. WOO! The. WOO! F'ing. WOO. Button. WOO!

It wasn't funny when he had that idiot on in the 80s. Sure as shit isn't funny now. Sad is more appropriate.

Sure enough, this is exactly what it is:

Quote:
For the third sports station in town, WGWG-LP/The Game 87.7, the only daypart to achieve any ratings higher than a 1.0 was its non-sports morning show, which jumped up to 1.6 share for Men 25-54 (tied at #25). None of the sports programming on the station for the rest of its day or night could gain a share higher than half its morning show, which explains why its ratings are as low as they are -- even in its target demographic.

Why won't Larz mention Brandmeier by name, though? Are they beefin', too?

I listened to some of it. When Brandmeier asked him what Woo does during the offseason besides make appearances, all Woo would say was how he's counting down the months, weeks, days, and hours until Opening Day. Riveting. Oh, and hilarious.

Woo Woo is tired territory. I'll be skipping that. Benefit of listening to the podcast.
