Post subject:  Kap & Haugh - Yesterday (11/10/14)

When I was out and about yesterday I was listening to Kap & Haugh. Kap came out wanting heads on pikes, and at first I thought it was an act. No, he was that angry with the entire Bear's management. He felt the only way to salvage anything was firing Trestman and D Cord.

Haugh, in his typical wishy washy way, could not be more against it. It was not "fair" to do that. They should coach out the season. When pressed if he would fire the D Cord., the answer was the same. "It was not right."

Kap was like a hungry dog with a bone, he would not let it go.

What I enjoyed about this was that there was legit debate on the issue. Both sides would not give. As much as I do not like Haugh, he stuck to his beliefs.

Contrast this with the Score, where the only debate is the straw men set up so the "smart" hosts can flex their intellectual might. Or ESPN 1000, where the debate is the "hot takes" and the marking orders they get from Bristol.

Day in and day out, I am enjoying the Game.

Yeah I caught the rerun of the show last night. Was pretty good stuff all through.

I was listening at 9 yesterday, too, via the stream. Kap even dropped a "goddamn." His fire and passion wasn't an act. Can't be when you drop a "goddamn."

Yeah. He comes across as a pompous windbag, but he knows how to keep the show moving. He knows how to get to the root of a callers point, and he is not a bad interviewer. I have grown to like him, to be honest, and like his show.

Is it perfect?

Hell no. Yet I would say it is better than anything the Score has been doing for the past year.

You guys are all right. I feel the Kap & Haugh show is the first show I liked since M. North went belly up.

Heck it is the first show I have not mind listening too since B&B turned into two child raping douce canoes.

I would be more inclined to listen to this show if their update chick would shut up and just do her little updates. She interjects and talks to the hosts WAAAAAY too much. It's really annoying. I'd rather not hear her at all to be honest. Her voice is brutal.

They involve her in the show far too much.

They were just doing a segment called "That's Wack, Bro!" (based on something Brandon Marshall said to Haugh) and were talking about things that have happened within the last few days.

Brooke tells a story about how Andre Agassi wouldn't sign her autograph book when she was 10.

Me either jimmy. She's nice to look at on the tv version too.

I have been listening daily. I have grown to like Kap. The show is not funny, but it is solid sports talk. I much prefer a Mac led show with more variety and humor, but in terms of pure Chicago sports, it is a decent listen.

The Game is now the best sports radio station in Chicago.

The Score should be ashamed. They have better talent, but they are lazy and have lost their edge.

The sad current state of The Score is due to passive management. The day that Mitch leaves things will change quickly.

Can't be true of a station that employs Harry and/or Spike.
