Saw this in the Daily Herald today: "Cubs owner Tom Ricketts will talk about the state of his ball club at a multi-chamber luncheon, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at Avalon Banquets, 1905 E. Higgins Road, Elk Grove Village. Ricketts will be introduced by Daily Herald sportswriter Barry Rozner. Tickets are $35 and the deadline to sign up is Jan. 20. Must pay before event. Call (847) 398-3730 or visit rmchamber.org" Subsequent to this little event, you can be sure Rozner will spend endless print extolling the virtues of Ricketts & Co. Slurp Slurp. |

once when i was about ~11 years old i was walking by the local suburban park and i saw a half drank slurpee just sitting there on the wood siding around the park. like any adventurous suburban youth, i took a little piss in it and left it right where i found it in the hope that some dumbass kid drank it later. it's like george michael taught me: you gotta have faith! |

Tommy's just hitting up the NW burbs to apologize for using Rosemont and Arlington Heights as stalking horses for the Wrigley renovations. He's gonna make it up to us by announcing that Todd Ricketts will perform his one-man show, What If Todd Was One Of Us?, at the Rosemont Theatre. |

It would also most likely have changed the color |
