http://wrigleyville.locals.baseballprospectus.com/2015/04/07/welcome-to-bp-wrigleyville/

Launched a couple of days ago headed by Sahadev Sharma. He listed 9 guys that'll be contributors which includes Scott from Davenport *beep boop beep* !!!

Fantastic idea by BP. They'll be at the forefront of the upcoming dynasty.

No chance at objectivity on this. Expect rainbow hunting with all statistical analysis

I think they dont care if the stats are good or bad, they just want the stats to tell the story before it happens.

If they suck, they show you why...too many K's to have any W's?

I thought this was actually going to be about Wrigleyville and they were going to chart Supplemental Condiments Above Replacement.

better yet, they can chart total attendance, concessions, and screen-related revenue streams and factor that against any and all overhead costs to come up with a stat i like to call VORP, or Value Over Replacement Parade.

I got into a squabble on the FG comment section (i know; imagine that  ) while i was drinking in the Gingerman, and Craig (Edwards) taps me on the shoulder and says something to the effect of "I think the guy is posting from the table over there, so maybe take it down a notch there Chief"

Did you ask him my question?

"He's Irish"

I almost choked on my beer

The Irish don't give their son's a girl's name. I'm not buying it.

I think that was his way of saying "I uhhh... actually don't know". He also chuckled when I asked him if Cameron was an actual human being or a computer simulation

Post subject:  Re: Baseball Prospectus Wrigleyville

I'm guessing computer simulation. The dude doesn't blink. Were you interviewing for a job?

I wish. Nah, just two fans taking in a game. I lack the technical expertise and coherent writing style to be anything more than a freelancer, but he did mention that if any front-office or statistical analysis grunt type things came to his attention he would try to keep me in the loop

I did tell him that i would be more interested in the traditional type opportunity... area scout or something.

He said "all you need to know is how to use a radar gun and a clipboard"

The work reference i made in the Going bonkers on IMU thread was... and this probably sounds hilarious, but I keep the clubhouse and cafeterias in sharp knives and slicer type equipment

Umm...it's a little more complicated than that.

Keep in mind ... this a stat or numbers type guy's view of it. You and I both know it's not that simple.

This will last no more than 18 months when these loser Cubs fans realize they aren't getting jobs with the team for blatantly cheer leading Theo on some local yokel blog. The Cubs only do that for national writers.

Bigfan really needs to consider growing the CSFMB umbrella. Proper web exposure...guest blogs / articles....daily summary of external links / articles to visit with hopes of linkbacks...

We can do this.

I didn't realize that BP was accredited with the BBWAA so I guess I could understand why they wanted to distance themselves from ol Scotty....if Beardown is reading, here's another case of someone trying to be like Bernstein and it backfired.
