Then, when an actual trade comes up for Pau Gasol, the Bulls don't need him.

IF Shareef Abdur Rahim is motivated, he can be a good add for the Bulls. He can play 3/4 and some 5 and has shown in the past that he can be a big scorer and rebounder. Even in reduced minutes this year, he's getting 10+ pts a game. You could probably get him 'cheap' as well.
