I like Brian Paruch doing the late shows on the Score. I catch him on the ride home on my late nights. He seems like he can talk about most subjects and seems pretty easy to talk to. Plus, it sounds like he really enjoys being on the air and it tends to make the show a little more fun to hear. On until 1am tonight and he said that he will be on after the postgame on Sunday until 5am. I miss overnights. Sporting News Radio sucks. |

On until 1am tonight and he said that he will be on after the postgame on Sunday until 5am. I miss overnights. Sporting News Radio sucks. I just caught the tail end of The Whipping Boy tonight. I agree he isn't half bad talking sports and seems more upbeat. It's a refreshing change from the general know-it-all attitude of all the Score hosts. On a side note, David Stein just came on and tonight's show will be another dose of self-help rhetoric centered around bipolar disorder. Cue throat punch. |

He's upbeat and enjoyable enough, however he talks in circles and I dont think he knows much about the Bears and he knows shit about the Bulls. He's all baseball, the Murph of Sox fans. |

He's actually taking time away from Drinky & Goff. They split up the night shows between them when they don't have Hawk games. They are kind of competing against each other for a full time gig eventually. He's a more polished broadcaster then Goff & Drinky. More well spoken and can better express a thought. He's not bad. |

I have actually heard Goff on with Paruch a few times. I do not know how or when they split up the late shifts, but it seems to me they just throw whoever in for mop up duty after the worthless, retarded DePaul games. |

one of his best segments was one in which he detailed the contractual forces/history that built the current american league central, especially the white sox. his point seems like common knowledge now -- and this was either at the tail end of the season or the beginning of the offseason -- to keep an eye out for what moves will be made, as the sox were built to win for the 05-07 stretch. |

I heard him with Goff last weekend, and I turned it off when Goff brought up the topic "Why are the Bears in the SuperBowl ?" and he was looking for answers beyond they won their playoff games or they are a really good team. I generally hate hosts who want to have a specific topic because generally their topics suck - just keep it simple, and let callers drive the show. Chances are, if you're are talking Bears, so will your callers. |

I think it can be dangerous to let the late shift callers drive the show. I know there are plenty of astute listeners out there, but there are plenty more dudes just getting out of happy hour listening and calling in, too. Goff is obviously not as polished as some of his peers, but he is only 25 and does not have nearly as much on-air experience as Matt, Laurence or Brian. Jason has shown, though, that he has better knowledge of baseball, football and basketball than a lot of his cohosts, and I think that's why he deserves a chance to develop more. I think he can be a pretty damn good host. |

I like what little Paruch I've heard on weekend fill-in stuff, and yeah, he is more enthusiastic than most. We need more Cubs fans on the air, though. |

Drinky and Brian along with a 3rd guy (how is Mike Bloomberg or Joe Bartosch?) have my vote for the new morning show... a fresh and upbeat morning show is what that station needs. It can't be worse than what they have now. |

Can't get enough of Murph weekdays from 12 'til 2? |

No, I'd like someone other than Murph to be a Cubs fan on the station. Then again, I guess that's what WGN is for. |

Not a fan of Paruch, but god bless him tonight. He's on till 5 am. I'm not drunk yet, but I'm planning on it. The Superbowl sucked, but it's good to hear Pud Arkush breaking down the game when you're working on your fifth beer. |

Nice, I will give the Score my props for local overnight, should do it regularly though. LOL @ Hub, saw nothing at the game that told him that there was any reason to blame coaching for the loss |

if they could somehow convince drinky/goff and paruch to trade overnights, that would put an end to whatever "ratings competition" someone alluded to on this board, as well. |

torch! wrote: LOL @ Hub, saw nothing at the game that told him that there was any reason to blame coaching for the loss Did he really say that? Maybe he knows something I don't. Since he does know so much, I would ask him to explain what was the offensive game plan. |

This post softened the impact of an otherwise dreadful day! All of the sudden the biggest B&B sycophant on the board is worried about the "dangers" of inebriated or dumb callers driving a show. Too funny! |

He's okay, actually. He's a little mechanical hitting his talking points, but he's quite a bit better than Drinky or Goff at this point. His voice does annoy me. I think someone compared him to Dan Patrick's "Phil-in" Jason Smith. Paruch's voice isn't that horrible, but it's pretty bad. |

Paruch's voice does not bother me at all, actually. He is a pretty polished host and has a pretty good interaction with the callers. He is pretty non-threatening and not very risque, which is probably why he has gotten so much air-time lately. |

He spent an hour on the weekend reading passages from Moneyball. Rough, rough radio. |
