The whole situation with Taft and Scott is kinda funny. It's like the producers over there are like "Hey Jerry, I know you are probably ready to wrap it up sometime soon, so we have this lady here who will kind of take over, but we don't want you to feel like we're pushing you out, but realistically we are. Do you think you could keep it together for a year or two while we do this transition? We really like you, but we really like her future, so ... yeah... if you want to take nights off, just let us know, no big deal. Cheryl will be happy to fill in. But we'll also have to give her spots, like any time there's major weather threatening.... maybe you two can alternating appearing on air? And if you get tired or want to go have a smoke, that's totally cool. We really love you Jerry." |

Fast forward a short time later he's anchoring the morning show while Hosea & Linda Yu are doing the "We can't fire these minorities or Jesse Jackson will have a shit fit/We need to find a gig for Cheryl Scott until Jerry croaks" newscast on WCIU. |
