Odd that the Cubs would peak in spring training and go downhill from there. The novelty of the new station? Cincinnati is crazy--they must not have television there.

I dont think its the Cubs or Sox, its the whole readio station...so it just tells you more people go outside when it gets nice out.

Wow. Look at the unbelievable numbers the Reds do. And they're a shitty team. Brewers suck and they are doing well too.

WTMJ has always owned the ratings book in Milwaukee. It's quite similar to KMOX in St. Louis: news/talk/sports mix that focuses on local coverage in a mid-sized market where competitors may not have the budget to do so themselves, plus being around forever and ever has given them brand loyalty that no one can beat. I suppose WLW is in that vein as well.

Charlie Sykes is an ass, though.

I didn't see all of Los Angeles when I was there last month, but most of it just looked downtrodden to me. Nothing looks like it was built to last, but a lot of it has lasted in spite of itself. Is that the vibe you got? Beautiful terrain, though; what I wouldn't give to climb those hills.
