Corporate radio behemoth iHeart Media again landed four of its seven Chicago stations in the top 10 rankings, including urban adult-contemporary WVAZ FM 102.7, which jumped back to the No. 1 spot overall.

Nielsen Audio ratings released Tuesday showed the company’s Top 40 WKSC FM 103.5, urban contemporary WGCI FM 107.5 and adult contemporary WLIT FM 93.9 also in the top 10 among all listeners for the period from August 13 to September 9.

After sharing morning honors last month with Eric Ferguson and Kathy Hart of Hubbard Radio hot adult-contemporary WTMX FM 101.9, the anchor team of Felicia Middlebrooks and Pat Cassidy on CBS Radio all-news simulcast WBBM AM 780 and WCFS FM 105.9 led the dawn patrol by themselves in the latest survey.

Cubs baseball broadcasts helped boost Newsradio 780 to a tie for first place in afternoons with V103’s Doug Banks.

Among listeners between 25 and 54 — the key demographic prized by advertisers — The Mix remained No. 1 by a wide margin overall and in mornings (with Eric & Kathy), middays (with Lisa Allen) and afternoons (with Kevin “Koz” Koske).

Score still up on 1000, 2.2 to 1.6, but according to Feder W&S beat B&B, 2.1 to 1.8.

How the hell did XRT lose an entire point?

There are more people who enjoy that ESPN form of sports talk.

The more informed listener still knows to go to B&B for that real, real...

Nope. Boers and Bernstein is for a more discerning listener.

The group is smaller, and thus...the ratings reflect that. FACT.

...but my statement is accurate, though.

More dumb people dig the ESPN way of doing things.

Mostly intellectuals are the ones making it through an entire B&B program.

That's what happens when you play Ex's and Oh's twice an hour.

I'm proud of W&S. They put on a real solid show. I'm actually surprised the gap isn't greater.

I have noticed their rotation is a lot tighter than it used to be, while still keeping the rotation/library ratio about the same. Check the playlist and you'll see "Smooth Sailing," "Ship to Wreck" and "Ex's and Oh's" three or four times a day. Used to be that new music only got played once or twice a day. Consultants, man, I tell ya.

I recently found out that Elle King is Rob Schneider's daughter.

I love seeing B&B fall to W&S. My guess is people had enough of their crap with the Kane situation and went up the dial.

WSCR is still ahead and Mully & Hanley are in the top 10 for morning drive. Mully & Hanley bore me to death, but I can at least respect them for not being terrible people like Dan Bernstein.
