He didn't respond. He'll probably block me like David Haugh did....(oh yeah, forgot to mention that...he got mad because I tweeted something to the effect of "Nice, Brian Urlacher is giving it to @davidhaugh on Waddle and Silvy")...

Caught a little bit of Huebner and Finer this morning and they were bemoaning the fact that CBS has the Super Bowl this year. They brought up the 49ers v. Ravens Super Bowl and how poorly they though CBS handled the downtime during the power outage.

If anyone knows how to gracefully handle adversity live on the air, it's Ben Finfer.

Ben just has multiple traits going against him.

1. Nasally voice. It is not ear friendly. My voice ain't dulcet tones either, but I don't rely on it as my money maker.

2. Fucking corny. A rigid and monotone delivery is radio hell. He always acts like a guest host instead of, "The Ben Finfer Show".

3. The humor. Or lack there of. He says funny shit, but it is often too subtle or deep for average listener and his producer. Know your audience, smarty pants.

4. Attitude. Always seems burdened with the news of the day or topic at hand and segment. Has to express his emotion instead of it coming thru his voice and language.

It seems kind of strange to be singling out for these criticisms someone who is working essentially as a guest/substitute host, when many of the same things could be said of higher profile sports radio hosts in this town.

Does anyone here not drive a Prius or believe we should consider the feelings of terrorists before shooting them.

I don't mind Finfer as compared to some of the Bernstein minions at WSCR.
He might not be great but at least it's not Bernstein puppet radio.

I loved catching him in the car on Saturdays talking about how Ricketts was cheap and Theo had a bad plan.
