How's the vibe going now that you have some flight miles with the famous Mac? Do you have any say in the music you play? Why do I hear Mellencamp, then Zep back to back? Why do I hear Bryan Adams at all? Queen? wtf? Why don't you let Mac do the northwestern football read from end to end? It is sports, right? What questions do you have for a legend like Mike North. Fuck Mac. I want to hear from Pete. |

Pete, Please continue to not let Mac post in the Ask Mac thread. That is all thanks! You don't need to reply here. His silence is more then enough. |

Mr. Pete, 1) Were you impressed by the fact that Northie wore a "Pistol Pete" jogging suit to his intro meeting with you staff? 2) I read where the #3 station in LA has a playlist of only 250 songs and they play Hotel California and Brown Eyed Girl four times a day. Do you think that approach would work here? Thanks |

The question was directed at Pete. I am trying to get to the bottom of whether Dan has any actual input into the dumpster fire that is The Drive morning show. |

Is this KRTH you speak of? From wiki: Quote: After Labor Day 2013, (months after the departure of Program Director Jhani Kaye) under PD Rick Thomas, KRTH began to transition out of a portion of 1960s' music, due to the fact that the music had appealed more to older audience than was measurable by the ratings system. Additionally, a new generation of classic hits from the 80's were introduced to the mix and ratings began to rise substantially Also, Most early 1970s music, as well as Soul hits from the late 1960s and early though the mid 1970s, were eliminated because most of the Soul songs were requested by older African Americans, than by Whites and Hispanics. Culling old/black/female music so as not to alienate the Key Demographic is what WLS-FM did under its old program director, who is gone now, along with that policy. I would say that their approach would not work here. |

I would say that their approach would not work here. That is the station. Given that it appears stations such KRTH are going after the same white male 18-48 demo as WSCR, I was wondering if Mr. Pete considered changing both the playlist and trying to get sports guys who played in the 21st century or even females with 'come hither' voices to increase ratings (as opposed playing Stones/Supertramp and Mac/Northie as sports hosts). Don't get me wrong, I am a big a fan of the Macster as there is (I also have a 21 year old son in the autistic spectrum, so I have some appreciation of what his life has been like) but I don't see how Stones/Mac/Northie attracts the desired demo. Just curious, if Mr. Pete has any thoughts. |

Is Mac ballast? If you threw him overboard , would anything change? The ratings for slappy and grimace seem to be about the same as they were when Mac was there. Pete, were you in the big Pistol Pete meeting? If so, did you get a seat at the big table, or were you one of the outliers? Looks like they went cheap on lunch. |
