It it is a shot at the Cubs, that's quite a compliment. I love the fact that some team is making t shirts about toppling the mighty Cubs. How things have changed.


But yea, its a good troll move.

Mets did it in 2015. They had the BttF themed 'Fight the Future' shirts.

I Disagree. I mean it's a team rallying hashtag. It's almost supposed to be obnoxious.

Maybe fans did but the shirts they wore after they won said The Pennant Will Rise

And Cubs said raise the flag.

Thinking maybe the guy who writes these just really loves the thought of a good pennant raising.

I dont really think anything fans or teams do is obnoxious (other than Cardinal fans). I rarely find myself annoyed with other teams or their fans.

I mean, it's literally a flag that is bragging that you won, and people hang the stuff all over the place. If the Red Sox or Yankees did everyone would hate it. The Cubs got away with it when they weren't a perennially great team.

It does emerge from a real tradition, though. That's why it never annoyed me.

Yeah....I get that. But still.....it was rooted in a tradition, and that's kind of cool.

The W's are pretty much just substituting for Cubs flags. I dont really see it and think "oh, the cubs won today" I think oh, that's a Cub's fan's house.

I'll always stick up for Go, Cubs, Go because of what it replaced.


They used to play Get Down Tonight by KC and the Sunshine band (fine song in the right time) because that was what it was all about in Wrigley. Cubs maybe won, maybe they didnt, now go get your party on in Wrigleyville!!!

So to switch to a song that is at least about Winning and not partying, is a positive to me.

People leave them up all year long.

Of course it has to do with winning, but you make it seem like people raise them in victory on a daily basis. They've become the go to flag/logo for some people, instead of one that just says Cubs.

If that bothers you or you think it's obnoxious, fine, but the fact remain it's just the fan's team flag.

I would think a normal human seeing a W flag would think "Cubs fan" not "Cubs won today even though it's February 22nd"

Once again, I don't see how you are arguing against what I am saying. I mean, you're saying it is about winning, but it also isn't about winning, but of course it has to do with winning.

I'm also pretty sure the W flag in the last year was because they won the last game of the season in the playoffs.

There have been W flags all over Wrigleyville for years.

It's the team flag at this point. Not real difficult to understand.

Sox fans upset about the W flag is great.

This is going to be a fun few years. Hopefully the Sox plan works out and we can see both teams in the playoffs at one time....and maybe just maybe a Cubs and Sox World Series. My mind cannot even fathom what that would be like in Chicago and on this board
