I don't know why it annoys me, but this show needs to stop referencing tv ratings at "historical levels". The Jordan years beat the daylights out of the current finals in terms of ratings. It's just not accurate to say that, unless your history started in 2004.

He was flabbergasted?

I haven't been following this story that closely but are you saying that Shaw was such the obvious pick for the job that passing over him would flabbergasting to Mannix?

From a distance, I didn't see it that way at all. I saw Shaw as a legitimate candidate but in no way do I think that passing over him is a flabbergasting decision by the Bobcats.

What am I missing, Shark?

I probably used the wrong word, but that was Mannix who was less than thrilled, and I follow him on Twitter @ChrisMannixSI. He couldn't believe that Shaw, a guy who has been an NBA head coaching candidate on several occasions, continues to get passed over.

Why does it seem to me that only in the NBA do players retire and move right to head coach or GM positions? I know in other sports ex players become coaches but generally after a experience gaining apprenticeship. And outside of the NBA I know of no other ex players becoming GM's or Presidents so recently after having played. Is it because basketball really isn't that complicated?

The dead Paterno "songs" Bernstein just did were pretty damn funny. B&B making me laugh out loud seems a few and far between occurance these days.

George Wallace in Vegas is great, though the tickets are probably too expensive.

I thought George Wallace was dead. He'll be happy to hear I was wrong.

Bernstein just shot me down. :( Got my text read on the air though so I'm basically as cool as Ten Foot Midget.

He's really good at it. Lots of audience interaction.

Bernstein is probably just racist.

Did anyone just hear onetime former Bears' preseason PBP Dave Barnett make a "fifth base" reference last night on Rangers/FOX Sports Southwest?

These "click on your radio banner" ads are really weird. Especially the "roses are red" one. Yeah...

But you know what's cool? Jim Halpert is selling Esurance!

They may not all be current and some now are considered experienced but mchale, del negro, Isaiah, lucas, Boston's coach I'm having a brain cramp. There are more but I'm on the bus and can't double check. As for gm's mchale again, Kerr, ainge, ferry etc.

I was focused on your "right to head coach or GM positions" statement. I interpreted that as the move from player directly to head coach or GM as the basis for your contrast with the other leagues.

Here is the only online article pertaining to Dottie that I can locate.

http://www.statecollege.com/news/local- ... s-1071097/

Curious how the fellers spin this. The unedited stuff is where there can probably be more vitriol.
