Thought pretty much the same thing .... it's awfully easy in life to be quiet and reflective when everything is going one's way; methinks no such "introspection" would be occurring were the series 3-1 in favor of OKC.

Yes, Terry, Soriano is a big reason that those Cubs teams failed in the playoffs.

My god is Bernstein going over the top with this LeBron love. I can't believe they've devoted almost the entire show to milking LeBron's hog leg. Why do they think anyone wants to hear this...?? Oh that's right, they know that nobody wants to hear this which is why they are doing it.

Dan thinks Chicago fans are ALL meatballs and morons, and loves baiting them/us.

as an aside, anyone who doesn't enjoy watching lebron put in work on the basketball court is a goddamned moron who doesn't like basketball. #fact

Not sure I agree with B/B. Soriano has been much better this year at the "baseball sensibility" plays. I have been pleasantly surprised. He still has the occasional gaffe, but there has been a noticeable difference in his game this year.

The Score has partnered with a Devin Hester football camp? Can someone tell me when Dan Bernstein will be tendering his resignation?

I know it doesn't seem fair to expect that, but Dan Bernstein has said that youth football is basically child abuse. Therefore, holding himself to the "People of Penn State should be resigning in disgust" theory I have to assume that if Bernstein doesn't that he in fact supports child abuse.

Here's a criticism - part of the reason I don't trust B&B's opinion is because they never praise anything from ESPN. I understand. It's the competition.

But, they always promote something that is non-ESPN by saying, in the thinnest veil possible, that it is not ESPN. ESPN is not my favorite network by a long-shot but they do do some excellent programming among the crap. It diminishes their recommendations.

I like @darrenrovell's work, but I will like it (and trust it, more importantly) a whole lot less if he indeed goes to ESPN, as is reported.

Don't worry, his computational tidbits like "NBA attendance multiplied by NFL attendance correlates strongly with MLB attendance" will be just as useless under the aegis of Disney as they were under Comcast.

This is absolutely the dumbest fucking thing I have ever heard in my entire life. That Bernstein finds Rovell to be anything but a simpering, sub-Gladwellian tardellectual is bad enough, but now he's implying that people somehow get dumber purely by dint of working for ESPN? I wonder how that works--do the brain cells die all at once, when the first paycheck clears? Or is it a slow and steady decline, augmented by prolonged exposure to Mark Schlereth? I'm as big a Mothership hater as you'll find, but give me a fucking break.

The thing is, though, that Rovell probably will get even dumber at ESPN, as many others have, and I expect that his insipid Nielsen tweets will all be used to further the agenda that everything in the ESPN family is the best and most popular ever. Some quick research shows, however, that Rovell used to work for at least espn.com before switching to NBC Sports, so was he only not useless when employed by NBC?

Funny that he "trusts" Rovell's work after the Deadspin story from a week or two ago.

He can't "trust" Rovell now that he's going to be working for ESPN?

That's pretty rich coming from a guy who likely doesn't believe at least 50% of what he says and has essentially devolved into an antagonistic troll, not unlike noted pudwhack and ESPN'er Skip Bayless.

It's a done deal though with Rovell and ESPN/ABC. CNBC is supposed to announce it this morning. Makes me wonder what happens to "CNBC Sports Biz: Game On!" on NBC Sports Network, DIRECTV 603. Not sure if Erin Sharoni, Rovell's co-host on that program and also easy on the eyes, would become host or if NBC pulls the plug completely.

Are you saying that Darren Rovell is easy on the eyes and Erin Sharoni is as well? or that two things she does are co-hosting the show and being hot?

I was referring to Erin, CH. However, she's only on there for a few minutes.

This is what I was referencing, in case anyone didn't see it previously.

Bernstein's defense would be that ESPN always has an agenda.

Not saying its a good defense.

And this was the PTFB point for me. Lebron is a [s]good[/s] great player with great versatility but he doesn't run an offense the way Magic did. To suggest that Lebron is better is basketball meatballery at the highest.

DB has become the Chicago radio version of Skip Bayless. Staking out the extreme, creating an army of strawmen to validate his position, and then arguing that he can't be proven wrong by his own specific definitions.

I don't listen all day and not every day, sometimes by circumstance and sometimes by choice, mostly when in the car. More and more I find that when able I don't listn to a whole show. The Bayless effect gets to me at some point.

Not saying its a good defense.

All bets are off once Rovell starts dividing numbers by other numbers for ESPN.
