Anywhere north of approximately Elk Grove Village and west of Oak Park gets the "durr hurr I've never even heard of this place where are we WISCONSIN?" treatment from WSCR. Now, to be fair, Island Lake is in the middle of buttfuckingnowhere--I confused it with Wonder Lake, which is a bad sign, and also a place where I was very nearly hit by a car as a youth--but they can't even seem to trek out to Arlington Heights for a remote without being all "here there be monsters" about it. Conversely, remotes at some godforsaken east-west like 195th Street ain't no thang.

EDIT: the Wonder Lake test consists of "can you not get hit by a car while riding your bike on a blind curve?" and I got a 12.

:) Amusing statement. I wish I fully understood what you're referencing. must podcast later.

Derrick Rose was "spotted outside a nightclub" and either TMZ or Deadpsin (which basically is TMZ) reported it, which got Dan really upset that anyone would have the temerity to report such inconsequential news. It is, of course, inconsequential in and of itself, except that Dan hitched his wagon to the Deadspin star when it came to Patrick Kane's "spotting" back in May, going on and on about how if these blogs report someone's nightlife, it's for very good reasons and done with airtight safety from defamation suits. But it's Pooh! Let these guys have fun!

Has he touched on the story involving Lebron and his side action's kid yet?

I saw that story myself. Derrick Rose might be recovering from his torn ACL, but this is the NBA offseason. Talk about overreacting.

This really spoils The Narrative of how Derrick is an idiot savant of the hardwood who lives in a Deerfield townhouse supervised by his brothers and kept away from sharp objects. We might have to act like he's actually just a professional athlete albeit one who is quieter than most.

That Lubrano thing was pretty funny. Lubrano is going to regret that video. B&B are going to pillory him for it and he deserves it. Hopefully they keep the this bashing to a minimum. 2nd half coming up as well as the Friday Fung. Stop at 3:30...please.

For the record, @sportsbybrooks just grabs work from the real journalists. sportsbybrooks uses his pulpit in similar fashion to Berns, but not a decent true source news.

Sports By Brooks, Yahoo! Sports' Dan Wetzel, whom the guys had on twice during the Jerry Sandusky trial, and Patriot News' writer Sara Ganim are three of the sources, Beni, that have covered the Penn State scandal from the getgo.

Remember when SportsByBrooks was just pictures of girls with big tits? So was CollegeHumor circa 2004, and then that transmogrified into a pretty good sketch comedy troupe. I'm awaiting TheChive's foray into longform music criticism.

I agree. Let it go bro. It was mildly amusing at best the first time. Now I'm just embarrassed for him when he reads it. I picture him coming up with the joke and laughing to himself ala Kenny Bania. GOLD JERRY!!!

And you have to wonder what is he doing all day that he can't change it or make it better?

Once again, we need the "Matt Rodewald Is A Bumbling Idiot" thread back. Even Dan got sick of it.

The other one was "Cubs are at CitiField, the house that WE built...with TARP money." No, the New York teams had their stadiums financed by various levels of government. CitiBank just bought naming rights. That's not paying to build it. I mean, there are enough degrees of separation where okay I get it, but it's not funny or necessary enough to do twice an hour. Geez.

I think I heard a "we" about the Sox in one of those, too.

Oh did you catch Larry saying it's harder to "program" a 30-minute show than it is a four-hour show? Okay here's a tip JUST ALWAYS DO SOX PREGAME THEN you dildo

I heard that, hilarious. It's really only a 20-22 minute show with commericals too.

From his ridiculous perspective, being the guy who loves to play interviews/press-conferences, etc, it must be tough to decide which ones to play in the short time window that he has, and still get some of his own thoughts out. I'm guessing that's his "logic".

Here's a better idea for Holmes...Go over to NBC5 on the nights there's a White Sox game and let Chris Rongey do the heavy lifting for the bridge builder to his "Horseshoe Casino/White Sox Radio Network Pregame" on The SCORE. I don't think Mike Adamle's doing anything these days...

Did little Danny Bernstein have a meatball slip yesterday or does he now allow sports fans to use the term "We" when discussing their favorite teams.
I have no problem with it but I seem to recall him scolding callers in the past.

Yesterday when discussing the Sox he said "I thought We'd win the first two and then get blown out of the water on getaway day".

I'd say that's a minor "gotcha" moment. Around 4:30-4:15 segment Bernstein went super creepy discussing a quote from a PSU QB. The most tasteless part was when he recited the texted "cheer" and couldn't stop giggling. Also, around 5:45ish they were joking around if Terry owned a bowling alley and it was great classic B&B radio. The discussion somehow got to Terry being alone in a basement and Bernstein tried to joke about rape room with Dottie being there. Total buzzkill moment. PSU is now invading B&B goofy-time and I hate it.

If a good caller says "we," Dan allows it. Opposite goes for a bad caller. That's the trend I noticed, at least.

When I was putting together the last bowling event, more than one person asked why we were holding it in the boonies. Ten minutes away from a town of 141,000 people (Naperville), and right in the middle of DuPage County, isn't the boonies.
