The problem here is that the BOT supposedly never actually voted on anything. Therefore, the BOT didn't really agree not to appeal. In fact, they didn't agree to do anything. Certain people acted on behalf of the BOT which seems to have been a problem.

Ultimately, I think the BOT needs to take the acceptance of sanctions up to a vote knowing that the NCAA will seek a 4 year death penalty if they refuse it. The BOT will then accept it officially.

Boilermaker, that was something else I remember hearing right after NCAA President Mark Emmert made the unprecedented sanctions against Penn State. A 4-year death penalty... What's appalling is that students, alumni & even the Paterno family can't get it through their thick skulls that Penn State wouldn't appeal these sanctions and yet they seem to think the NCAA overstepped their bounds. Their behavior in the wake of these sanctions is borderline ridiculous.

Which is it Shark? "Oh Brother" (not PSU again) or "They Still Don't Get It" (more DB nutsack lickage)? Even when the thread is intended to deter you wade in and give the haters more to hate, and some of us another reason to ignore.

Either give your own opinion or just stick with the shtick of imitating what the show is about, when you mix it up you fail on not sticking to an opinion or reporting on events.

I'm not pro PSU or Paterno, and I INTENTIONALLY DIDN'T LISTEN today, but (and as been pointed out by others) there is a lot more to this story than Joe Paterno and the football team. So long as the show continues to narrowly focus on the above and has chosen to abandon the other aspects--i.e., "follow the money" or "criminal conspiracy" or "abandonement of responsibility or accountability" then they are nothing more than another aspect of the fringe lunacy looking for either profit or self-aggrandizement.

One can follow Sara Ganim and get far more depth, insight and balance. One can follow this for purely the criminal aspects (what matters to me), or one can continue the lame ass canard of stomping JoePa or blaming the football team. It seems there is a minority which chooses the former while a more vocal/visible (I'm with DB) group seeking popularity with the latter.

After countless years of listening and support, I've had enough. If DB says JoePa practically held the kids down to be victimized or participated in selecting victims, there now appears a sad contingent on this board that will parrot or woof-woof such a declaration.
