So Dan is applying union-busting to capitalists? Good god, what a dink.

The only way to explain it is that Dan has such a raging hard-on for plutocracies that he thinks of union-busting as a best practice, like minimizing overhead or holding regular performance reviews.

The officials stopped the game at Purdue when they were doing the same and we were warned there would be technicals handed out if it happened again.

What was your favorite cheer?

you know what unions did to our shop? They slashed the tires of every employee's car in the lot. Why? Because we were dealing with a customer using scabs to make car parts.

Nice.

These two and their idiot callers are so far off base on the rooftops, it's ridiculous. I guess it's their zeal to defend a billionaire's profits.

First, can we all agree that none of us has seen the contract the Trib signed with the rooftop owners? Or did Terry's guy tell him what's in it? dan: "They should do whatever they want, block the roofs, and still demand their 17%." Does this idiot really think there wasn't some responsibility on the part of the Cubs not to block the views in exchange for a free 17% for DOING NOTHING? He's so adamant that the Cubs be allowed to do whatever they want to do with their property, why won't he apply the same standard to the rooftops? I've got seats on my roof. Why the fuck would I pay you anything just because a shitty ballclub is playing in view? Put up whatever signs you want. dan is right about one thing. People aren't on the roofs to watch the game.

Maybe dan should read up on the spite fence that they built in Philadelphia around Shibe Park and how that turned out for everyone involved.

But if the Cubs make more money, they'll sign better free agents! And getting those free agents mean they can justify raising ticket prices! Which, in turn, will obtain better free agents! Monetize everything!

Until the narrative changes and dan wants to slowly explain how payroll doesn't correlate to wins. I'm so confused!

I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the wine, maybe its denisdman's post from earlier and the blandness that is Carman & Jurko, but for as much as I dislike Dan's attitude about almost everything I'd prefer to be able to point out how much I disagree with him and why, rather than just nodding in agreement. I wouldn't say I hate-listen but it's awfully close to that. Still it's the most entertaining sports talk show in the city by miles. When I listen to a show I don't necessarily want to agree with everything the host says. That's why I'm glad this board exists. :drunken: :drunken: :drunken:

I don't want to agree with everything either, but when you pride yourself on not doing show prep and not falsifying diametric opposition and not engaging in other medium-market talk show host contrivances, then don't turn your mic on and be a fucking asshole. I might mistake it for what you really think.

CH, what are you looking for when you listen to B&B?

For me, to be honest, it's just to see what ridiculous shit B&B are going to say (with a slight hope they get goofy fo 5 minutes) and be able to point out the stupidness here. If Dan weren't such a troll I would never have registered here and that makes me a bit sad.

I liked baseball talk and off-topic humor that came from being smart and bored. The "fuck all people between Poor and Rich-But-Not-Jerry-Reinsdorf" went, in apropos B&B fashion, from bad to fun-bad back to regular bad, and now I don't like to listen to it anymore.

Yeah, I don't that. How many people in the city outside of Schmutzie/Bill on Capitol Hill agree with this sentiment. I mean I've listened to the people that call this show, they ain't exactly enlightened...

I haven't heard Maddux in a bit or else I would have included him and 10FtMidget works for the Score so I left him out entirely, otherwise they both fit perfectly within the B&B worldview.
