i listened to one evening of goff down there just because i wanted to see what it was like. he really did try to play the part of bernstein down there. in his way i guess. even in that night, someone said, "we need to do xyz" and he said "its not we, you are not on the team" or some crap.

Yep. I thought this was a perfect opportunity for Goff to move away from BernSTINE and his downward spiral and develop himself. Pass or fail he would get his chops amd creat a real persona.

Guess it didn't work out that way. He mimicked BernSTINE and got put in a dumpster.

Yeah. I've said it before. Bernstein got a hold of Goff when he was 20 years old. Goff was just a wide-eyed, slack-jawed kid thrilled to be working at the station that he loved listening to. He was wet behind the ears so of course Bernstein was gonna be a HUGE influence on him. But he went FULL BERNSTEIN in his last few years at the Score.

I did check him out the first week in Atlanta. He told his listeners that his job was to properly teach them how to watch sports and/or think about sports. Something like that. How arrogant and full of himself is that? And he recited some of Bernstein's teachings to Atlanta during that show.

I just think from the moment he got there, his PD listened to him and said to himself "Dude, what the hell is up with this one?" Cuz Goff himself said the PD didn't know a damn thing about him before he got there. Mitch set him up through Corporate cuz they were scrambling to get people. So nobody over there knew what they were getting. I figured Goff wold have a short shelf life over there.
