Yet another example of Bernsie being paid to have STRONG OPINIONS. Its more accurate to say that wins are a rough measure of how well a team plays when a certain pitcher pitches, which is not totally irrelevant; but, there are more direct ways of assessing pitcher performance and that those statistics must be given presidence. I swear he only recognizes nuance when he is backtracking on something.
Also, how many "intelligent baseball fans" play fantasy baseball? Quite a few. Wins are a standard scoring category, much to the chagrin of Cliff Lee owners. But I suppose that is also irrelevant because fantasy doesn't fit into Dan's prescribed criteria for how you're allowed to enjoy sports.
