More seriously, I would be inclined to take Bills -7 if Orton plays, which is a big if. Sherman will blitz Cutler all day long, since the Bears cannot run. Cutler will become flustered by the 2nd quarter, put on his pouty face and throw a couple of his famous red zone picks. If Orton plays, I expect he throws two to three TD passes on the Bears. And then next week B&B will be talking about why it was a bad move originally for the Bears to have traded Orton away for Cutler, a complete turn-about in the position they've maintained for the last five years. But Bernstein will say this is what he's been saying all along.

i have to give you credit for sticking with the bit, even if it's technically a shitty bit that tries to be contrarian for the sake of being contrarian and has a touch of beardownitis in that all of your thoughts are so cromulent and worthy of our attention that they need their own threads.

but uhhhh... what the hell is this shit? it's one thing to show up and be like "yeah i'm going to be the CSFMBer who puts the final nail in the b&b coffin!" and do your "thinking man's beardown" thing.... but to go as far as to try and one-up the board's gamblers because you've gotten on that oracles-at-delphi gas-huffing plan and have seen the future in convenient "the bears will get rolled by buffalo" format because an old bears QB who you think never should have been traded for cutler might start?

comeon dude. i know i'm technically not helping by feeding the troll, but if you keep this up we're gonna have to start applying the speed gun meme to you.... and i don't wanna do that.

Please don't preach to us how smart you are. If saying wagering on Superbowl games is the same as that on a second tier Bears-Bills game in week 1 is the culmination of your intellectual prowess, then you would be better off seeking the audience of Bob in Niles.

The spread has moved in the direction I said it would, leaving you with egg on your face. We'll know more as the week goes on. The fact that TV networks are already running pieces speculating on Orton playing confirms the sentiment that I expressed.

Two of the things I said have come true: that there would be speculation Orton starts, which there has been, and that the spread would come in. My original comments on the magnitude of the spread change was hyperbole, get it. Nothing you have uttered is true, while your penchant for logical fallacies is all the more striking.

I have no doubt that after Spiegel announced on air he had placed bets on the Bears in Vegas to win the NFC North, NFC Conference and Superbowl, you did the same. You must like losing money. They won't even win the North.

And it's starting to become clear that you are a Bernstein lackey. Instead of B. F., I will call you B. L. from now on.

wow, i didn't even read your assault on bigfan when i had wrote that. this just goes to confirm what i said as inexorably correct cuz i just get this vibe that you're trying really hard to stand out and piss people off, and well, you can't have loftier aspirations than taking on the guy who runs this place at no charge to us for the sake of "having a go" with a raison d'etre that you're gonna stick it to b&b/disciples by dredging up more "THEY SHOULDA NEVER TRADED ORTON!!!!!! stuff.

at least when brick does it it's because he's a purdue guy through and through and he's been doing it since day one. but when it's an extension of your whole "i'm the guy that will put the final nail in the b&b coffin" schtick..... just.... comeon dude. you're not some hip new movement that's challenging us to rethink our positions on life, sports talk radio, and how we perceive sports. you're just a guy showing up to a board mug cunting for attention via a schtick that doesn't have anything genuine about it beyond its desire to stand out by "calling out" what you think are our "sacred cows" when in reality.... just hang out for a bit and see what we think about b&b and cutler and all that..... boers and bernstein don't tell us what to think... they just used to be in lockstep with a lot of our thoughts, but over time the show has definitely descended from whatever lofty perch it was on with us and this schtick you've got is like 3-4 years too late and truly desperate. troll harder, or at least better.

I'm in the group that used to love the show. Now it's a maybe podcast of certain hours. Bernstein's crusade of co - mingling sports and far left politics flat out sucks. His style is pissing off 40% of the audience. His crusades have descended into indifference on my part. It's because of his pre teen attitude. If I want to hear that. I'll turn on either side fringe radio. Luckily I podcast and skip as necessary. Bernstein goes about it all wrong.

Boers is himself without Bernstein. It really is time for a shake up.

Yup.

Dignified, feel free to send me your phone # and we can place a $ wager on the Bears game. I will give you the Bills +6.5 and it will be contingent on Ortman getting into the game.

And I think I have now been deemed "Bernsteins Lackey" ..BL for short....was that for me? Because if it is, that is the most creative thing stated here since someone here used the term "Bagman" as an insult directed at yours truely. Nobody supports the thoughts and accuracy of Dan Bernstein as much as I do. Was at his house all weekend, great guy.

The Bills won't bother throwing the ball until the Bears prove they can play run defense.

I never heard B&B do such a 180 as they did yesterday, which happened to follow my critical postings here about the Bears. It was completely unlike them, who pride themselves in their sagacity. Bernstein was even prompted to write a warning-shot piece, entitled "Bears don't fuck this up". If I'm just a guy showing up to a board, then why your posting? You didn't come out of the bullpen for nothing.

And no, they should never have traded Orton. You got that right. Imagine how much better the Bears would be now with Orton and the two first rounders they gave up.

The Bills may cover with E.J. Manuel at QB. I expect any QB to put up good numbers against this Bears D. Spiller can easily go for 125 and 2 TD's (before his annual injury.) The Bills usually will play competitive for the first six weeks or so. If the Bears do not easily dispatch this team. It's nothing but red flags going forward.

Orton is on his fifth franchise. The Bears traded him and three other teams said no thanks after employing him. Orton is a game manager, you don't win with that in the NFL any longer. He is a starter on an bottom five team and a backup elsewhere. I guess the scouts are wrong and you're right.

I think you're trying too hard to stir the pot.

The Bears house is in shambles. You have a head coach that doesn't know what he's doing, giving passes to Briggs and Marshall to do what's best for the Bears by letting them do things unrelated to playing football for Bears. I don't care what their reasons or excuses are, Trestman has been run over by these guys. Bernstein clearly smells blood, he's usually very quick in sniffing out incompetence. Trestman today dodging questions and obfuscating amounted to a clown show. He's a B leaguer that should have been put to rest in the NFL graveyard Canadian league. We're talking about the Chicago Bears, people! How many times since Ditka have we had to put up with guys that couldn't cut it, Jauron, Wannsted, Shoop, etc. I leave out Lovie, because I think the guy was a good coach, and so did his players like Urlacher, he just didn't get the help from Angelo with personnel to get the offense right.

I have heard hall of fame quarterbacks praise Orton's talent like Elway and Aikman. That is enough for me. He went 6-0 with Denver when he started there and had a winning record with the Bears, 21-12, with no supporting talent. Hester was one of his main receivers.

But I thank you for your honesty in thinking Buffalo will win against the spread.

If you caught the show today, Hub seemed to think that Buffalo are going to give the Bears trouble.

And following on Good Dolphin's point, Hub today said Buffalo was 2nd best running team last year while Bears were dead last against the run. Then he said "this is something that Bears fans should be worried about."
