Still, it's embarrassing for these reporters even if they're not embarrassed. That Terry and Dan get shit while they don't. And they're around the teams all the time.

Working this backwards, what are the last 3 things that either "guy" was able to tell them with certainty and timeliness? Certainty, in that it wasn't some unique tidbit of minor relevance that wasn't dismissed by the rest of the pack, unable to be followed up, that our intrepid hosts didn't eventually refute or denounce ("why do you care?!?"). Of course, Terry's guys have all been leaving voicemails on his analog answering machine in his study (where he's writing his book). Dan's are all on speed dial and available during commercial breaks or meeting him in the parking lot after work.

The only reason the public or anyone knows about this screaming meeting in GB was that Wayne Laravee was walking out of the stadium, saw the troopers and jokingly asked if it was for Governor Walker. Instead it was Wayne who reported...or better yet, told people about the Bears meeting in a storage room!

Being that the McCaskeys have to be aware that this was reported, I would think at some point they would have a meeting with their 'Senior Director of Communications' and want to put out their own spin on the issue, because at this point at the Bears fans know is that you met in a Storage room next to the bleach and toilet bowl cleaner to try and resolve the Bears issues.

While I dont doubt that Dan knows Hagel and speaks to him, Hagel has to be a complete idiot at this point if he is feeding Danny anything, as painting a player as an Asshole, while possibly true, does nothing to help this team in anyway. Its one thing for stories to be reported and sneak out, but for the guy who is suppossed to control the message be letting Bernstein shape a public perception of this team is a joke.

That's why Bernstein's source his himself. He reports on a story, doesn't provide anything concrete, just a bunch of 'could happen', and his source's validates his own opinions. Not to mention that he can pick up the phone during a commercial break at any time to get whatever information he needs on any topic. Easy to do that when you're always available to comment on anything.

I will agree much of what he claims he knows is just his opinion, but he claims it comes from his guy. Who I do think is Hagel.
