A lot of people on here seemed to think Bernstein may be in trouble. They tried to cite temporary ratings blips and other people who may be better options. Sorry, not going to happen.

He has now consolidated his power and seems in line for another 10+ year run as the main name in the afternoon show in the third largest market in the country. He probably got a decent raise. He still gets all the unlabeled wine he can drink. He can continue to do great charitable work. He works 5 hours a day.

Sorry Dan Bernstein haters. You lost.

Of course he's never going anywhere. That weasel would go full MacGruber to ensure he holds his soulless job.

He wouldn't even think of a move until his children finish their schooling. Mitch is really the perfect boss for Dan, which is why Dan openly praises him at every event. Mitch will never challenge Dan and he will never move Dan. He has about 10 more years of cashing paychecks and then he will make some bold move.

Idk. I am not sure what you think is bold but he will be too old to become some great next thing. I am sure he can do whatever he wants to do at that point in his life. Hi main responsibilities being done.

I agree with Brick he seems set now. Except for the raise. He is under contract. He will probably get one next renewal but in this radio climate keeping in the same salary upon renewal is a win.

When you are 57 a bold move is turning left onto North Ave.

I laugh when these radio hosts crow about their high ratings now that the Cubs are on 670. They lack any critical thinking.

The Cubs contract is a money-loser for the Score. Profit needs to be generated. The Cubs have patched over bad radio. Either you take a pay cut or I'm going to throw any cheap dope behind the mic. The ratings won't suffer with either option behind the mic.

i assume you mean if you're heading north when you turn left on to north avenue, right?

don't worry, if bernstein makes any ill advised left turns i'm sure after awhile enough of goff's "chicago ave" cred will rub off on beerstain and he'll be back across kedzie/california safe and sound without even so much as an "uh oh" when an unmarked tahoe drives by =P

Bold move would be switching genres or moving to a different industry entirely.

His main responsibilities are not done. He is entering the most difficult financial years.

Him and Spiegel employ the same cowardly tactic.

I am referring to his responsibility 10 years from now.
