Has Cheryl Scott been on with Larry after Terry called her a "Pin Cushion"?

Barry Rozner thinks Artem Anisimov is a bad hockey player, any opinion he has regarding the sport is useless.

I hope he enjoys writing columns for a soon to be defunct paper.

He's the worst of the fake hockey guys.

Based on what? Is that one of those go against everybody else statements.

He has some ill conceived notion that Anisimov is lazy and takes nights off. Completely ignoring the fact that he's one of the few guys who parks his ass in front of the net and is probably the hardest working player on his line. Him doing what he does is what allows Kane and Panarin to be among the league leaders in scoring. Heck, Anisimov has the most thankless job as he often will work the hardest on a shift and not appear on the score sheet for his efforts.

"Anisimov is lazy" is defaulting to "Russians are lazy," which itself is lazy.

As bad as TVR is accused of being at all times (and he has been very bad at times), analytics site hockey-reference has him ranked 14th in point shares at an altogether decent 3.0, nearly twice that of Saint Michal of Kempny in about the same number of minutes. But that's the dosey-do of analytics: the eye test says he's okay, so you say the analytics say he's Actually Bad, then other analytics say he's Actually Good, then you say your own eye test confirms he's Actually Bad. You can point to obvious times when he's fucked up and led to a goal against, yes, but he must be doing something along the way to justify his presence. Maybe he's just a thoroughly average third-pairing defenseman. Jesus.

TVR is a rough one. I want to like him, sometimes I have. Then he fucks up, then he's fine. He's roller coastery without the really big hill or something.

I do like him and I think he should be applauded for scrapping his way up to the NHL as an undrafted college grad and coming back from a number of big injuries. But he never had a high ceiling to begin with, it only got lower, and Q should keep him sheltered or out of the lineup altogether. Once Hjalmarsson is healthy, I'd start trying to give lots of defensemen some nights off on the way to the playoffs, Oduya and van Riemsdyk a few more than others.

TVR isn't that bad. He's a back-end guy. Every team has them. A lot of people get caught up on his mistakes, but every D man is going to make them. I'll take him on the back end of my D rotation.
