I have not listened to Bernstein since he has gone solo and honestly maybe listened once or so with McKnight. I disagree with Beardown, he is irrelvant. Has nothing to do with the politics, virtue signaling, etc., his act just ran its course, but he had a great run.

Early 2000s he was my favorite score host. B&B were great. Those suggesting North, forget his crazy politics, how he became sports radio famous I will never understand. THere were times when obvioulsy we didnt have phones, podcasts, etc and North would be on after a great game and he would tell a stupid story for 30 minutes about his childhood.

Nobody cared.

I like Bernstein on sports, I think he's a phony on political and social issues. Which is what he does now. Actually, it's what he's always done. Cuz he wants to feels important. I think Bernstein voted for Trump and will vote for him again. I think he's playing a role on the radio.

All these radio people from the past just seemed old because they were on for so long. They really were not old when they began having troubles with employment

I'll be the one person on here to completely agree with you....but Ben Shapiro isn't getting out of bed for local Chicago sports talk radio.

Saying nothing about Shapiro's politics, which there's plenty I disagree with...he is very intelligent. He's a skilled debater and he's arrogant AF. He'd have Bernstein crying for mercy within 2 minutes.

While not a fan of Shapiro, it would be like an NBA MVP playing against a guy who made the G League. Outside of Chicago sports radio, no one knows who Dan Bernstein is.

I said in another thread I think Parkins eventually goes National for he is very good at sports radio, has a great sports radio voice, as good as anyone I have heard nationally and honestly everyone at the score is just extremely meh after that. Has to be a shake up and outside talent.

Same per ESPN 1000, I know some on here dont like him, but Silvy is the best at ESPN 1000 to me. i also think J Hood is great. After that a lot of meh and blah as well.

I don't like Dan but I wouldn't dismiss his intellect. I think Shapiro is bright but the holes in his arguments get glossed over because he speaks so quickly and with confidence.

If anything, this presidential administration should have taught us not to impulsively genuflect at an Ivy League credential.

I agree with this in theory but not as strongly. Bernstein and Parkins are much better with a partner than solo. Granted, Bernstein needs the right partner. Goff and McKnight with Bernstein were awful. The few times he's been with Holmes there was way too much talking about comic books, restaurants, and hip hop. Bernstein with Abattacola or Rongey was never good either. Bernstein needs a steady partner- first 10 years of Boers or Rozner or possibly Mac or Spiegs. If not, give him lots of guests and talkative producers that will keep things relatively serious.

This will give denis the vapors, but IMO the best partner for Bernstein was Rozner. He'd call him out on his bullshit so often that Bernstein wouldn't even start when he was co-hosting with him.
