I've always defended Murph, but that he couldn't find it in him to finally bury the hatchet with Terry is truly pathetic.

C'mon. It's a 2 way street. Boers wouldn't have wanted him for his last show just as much as Murph wouldn't have wanted to do it.

What the hell would those 2 have said to each other? They don't like each other. It would have been phony if they pretended. So why do it?

MANY were happy to tell a story about or laugh at what a jag Murph was.

The station supposedly sent him an email to appear. Mac said Murph was the only one not to bother returning it.

lol, beardown starting up an official "beardown thread" on one of the topics du jour..... using a picture that RFDC brought to us, and not even so much as crediting RFDC for digging up that awesome picture.

btw, hearing NORT on with terry during the replay here = just feels right. i wish that NORT was back on the score so there was an actual sox fan there =/

Right. I'm saying I don't blame Murph. B&B have destroyed him for year. Why would he want to come back for a Boers celebration? Say what you want about Murph, but I get that.

in my ideal dream world, terry would have brought up the more-than-latently-homoerotic murph interview with some old 60s-70s cub when he was asking him shit like "so when you guys showered did you get lots of suds in the shower? lots of soapy suds to play around with when you guys are all in the shower? lots of suds when you guys were in the shower, right?" -- i like to think that this interview was a bit of the impetus, or the raison' d'etre if you will, for that in/famous brenly quote/drop "saying hi to mike murphy out in san francisco" =P

[insert julian tavarez joke/reference here >=]

DISCLAIMER: i'm technically a "murph guy" insomuchas i miss him being around the station cuz 1) rosy colored glasses for the past and 2) he sure knew how to make you, the listener/caller, feel like you weren't a piece of shit... and furthermore were a valuable contributor to his show if you called him up and actually knew what you were talking about. indeed, he told me to "not be a stranger" because he liked my insight/"hot take" =D

dude, i got no beef with you and furthermore i'm pro-beardown in that i don't think the C/S/FMB is the C/S/FMB without beardown....

...that said, i still find it amusing whenever there's a big ballyhooed topic of discussion on the board and beardown has to go and make a new "official beardown thread [on subject]" about it because, hey, why should people have to go through a ~5-10+ page thread looking for their USDA daily recommendation of "beardown content" ?? they might not see what beardown's hot take is! ergo, gotta make a new "beardown thread" on the topic so that way the ppl here just for beardown (you know, 2/3 of the score offices) don't have to wade through a waist-deep level of us riff-raff to get the good stuff from "C/S/FMB Institution: Beardown!"

The Terry/Murph feud was always a weird one. I thought it was weird enough when the root of all Terry's "I hate that bastard" stuff was an incident in which Terry called Murph gay, but then it turns out it was Mac who started the whole thing. Like, how juvenile can you get?

When North was on today he was talking about how, in the early days, the guys would rip on each other and from one show to another, but when time came to pull together, they all did, and were a family. It seems like Murph wasn't too keen on that second part, and either took the initial ribbing too seriously and distanced himself from "the family" or took himself too seriously and distanced himself from "the family".

In Terry's defense, everyone that has worked with Murph, even the ones that don't have an interest in toeing the Company Line anymore, has horrible things to say about him, they can't all be taking Terry's lead.

Da Ma Na telling a story about Bernstein. Mac said he took Bernstien to his first strip club. Then he said the car ride home was horrible.

(Mac doing Bernstein's voice)

Bernstein: Why would a women do such a thing?

Mac: Because not all people have a trust fund like you. You'll eventually meet people like that.

Not as pathetic as the amount of time they spent talking shit about him during a retrospective of a 25 year career. Kind of gives you the feeling it wasn't all murph

When you say "they" are you referring to the multiple guests who brought up Murph and took shots at him? No, you're right...I'm sure he was not the jerk he's been made out to be. At some point I'm sure we'll hear from somebody that worked with him that liked him...(crickets)

Peeling Murph's big banana?

T Dub started at the Score as a producer, not an on-air host--and I don't think he was one of the inaugural producers, although I could be wrong.

Who did you hear from? Mac and terry have a fight with him. Abbatacola is angry because murph expected him to do work

North likes murph. Fred likes murph. There, I almost matched you just with the people on stage today. Jesse seems to like murph

None of this murph stuff strikes you as bullies picking on the different guy? They do the same kind of stuff to les. Les just has thicker skin

Both Holmes and Rock despise Murph, but I'm not sure if this weakens or strengthens your argument.

dan mcneil is a real POS. Why did he bring up the feud and shit on murph on terry's celebration day? He even got Terry to respond. What a low ball move.

Bully's never change I guess. If I was murph I wouldnt have come back since he probably knew dan would start shit again.
