I'll absolutely buy it.

It'll be in your top 3 worst decisions you've made along with starting the MSFMB and reading my posts.

I'm strangely comfortable with that.

Why did they chose a picture of him from after he got cancer?

Definitely getting this book. I think we all learned how much we took Terry's presence for granted.

I don't think it's him with cancer. It looks like a Score photo shoot that was on the Score's website for years.

I won't get the book. You guys will report all the good excerpts here.

I don't think it will be as biting as many think. Terry will go easy on most guys. He'll kill Mike Murphy but we've heard him do that for years. So that won't be anything new.

Sounds like a repeat of his retirement show.

Product description
For 25 years, Chicago sports fans invited Terry Boers into their homes, cars, and offices as one of the premier voices of WSCR radio. Covering the latest championships and trades, and always ready to offer up timely takes, Boers was a Windy City constant until his retirement in 2017. In his highly-anticipated memoir, Boers delivers a trove of lively anecdotes and personal reflections from his life and journey through sports media--from raucous banter with Mike Ditka during The Score's early days to the Cubs' World Series celebration in 2016. A must-read for any of the thousands of listeners who made Boers part of their daily routine, The Score of a Lifetime is a freewheeling, frank portrait of a man, a career, a station no one thought would survive, and a city that loves its sports.

About the Author
Terry Boers is a legend in Chicago sports media and one of the original voices of WSCR, where he spent 25 years. Before launching his radio career, he served as a reporter and columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times. A Chicago area native, Terry and his wife, Carolyn, have four children and five grandchildren.

Let's predict what's in the book. Let's do our own excerpt predictions. I'll start.

I was alone with Dan McNeil. I felt something. Something I had never felt my entire life. I knew I wasn't gay. But loving Dan McNeil isn't gay. It's Dan McNeil. Anyway, he felt it too. Our eyes locked. He touched me. I touched him. Then I left. I had 4 boys and a wife. I couldn't leave them for Da Ma Na. But I will always cherish that moment. The moment where I got to be free.

If I could buy Norman Chad' s book or anything by PJ ORourke after 1992, it's an upgrade

Dan reading each chapter as a different person .... Vin Scully, Coach K, Harry Carey, Murph, etc.

Unless Dan does an imitation of the actor from the 30's.

Will he break bad on Bernstein? Murph is a given.

I can't say I miss having a parrot who doesn't challenge Bernstein and who agrees with everything he says, but I can say I don't think his replacement is very qualified to talk social justice or liberal talking points each day.

Bernstein has dominated this show now for years, I don't think Boers had many strong opinions in the last 3-4 years (at least) in his time on the air.

I also won't miss the 1-2 times a year he writes a column, the over the top reaction that people like Holmes give to it, acting like it's a work of art.
