One of the keystones in Bernstein's on-air shtick has been him condescendingly lecturing schools, teams, players, owners etc about how critical timing is in regards to "PR crisis management" in the wake of something blowing up. Spending segments discussing how much they screwed up by waiting so long to say something, ANYTHING, and that when they did they struck the wrong tone/had the wrong messaging.

How have we not heard from him, at all (unless I missed it)? Even if he has lawyered up and has decided to hibernate until that dust settles, how does he (of all people) not see fit to Tweet/X/Bluesky something, anything? I'm not saying he needs to admit guilt, or apologize or anything - but has he not contacted one of the very people he used to bring on the air to discuss how important it is to not let the clock tick - to get out in front out of it with some sort of "stay tuned" message?

I guess I'm just surprised that when the tables were turned he has chosen radio silence for two weeks vs assembling a team to help him set out a well thought out and measured campaign to use in the interim.

He is "working on things"

In the meantime Harry, *sigh* please only listen to doctors and to those who listen to doctors!

He's the biggest hypocrite of them all, as shown by arguing with Greg Messenger on Twitter/X.

That's why a lot of folks here didn't care if he was let go by the Score or not, even if that means losing a personality on the radio.

I would've gave him more slack if he showed a bit of humility at all, but the whole "Barstool Eddie saga" along with weirdly attacking the Bears for hiring Declan Doyle, it's just clear Bernstein lost whatever touch with reality he had.

He is likely following a NDA with his severance.

Surprisingly his Audacy Mickey Mouse Bulls podcast with Jr is still up. Two Coby White clip podcasts have been put up the last four or five days with no commentary from a Bernstein.

You think his NDA states/will state that he cannot speak publicly (at all) for __ amount of time? Fully understand that he may have been advised (or per the language in his separation agreement) to not post/be interviewed about anything to do with WSCR, but I can't imagine that Audacy is in a spot where they could offer him such an amazing severance package that he'd agree to just fall off the face of the Earth (after having been "always on" and commenting for 30 years).

Maybe he's just done. Maybe he's resigned to his fate of wandering around the lakefront fishing by himself? Maybe he doesn't see a need to crisis manage anything, as he's done.

That's common in a severance package to have a cooling off period especially when you are in a public job like that.

It may be - I don't recall the timing/radio silence when guys like McNeil were unceremoniously asked to not come back. A total gag order, not just one specific to his employment etc, seems a bit much - but it may be common, as you say, in the public figure space....if this were the case, it would certainly seem appropriate for Dan to state as much in a very. important. strongly. worded. message (as to why he'll be off the grid for awhile).

Also curious that he hasn't scrubbed any of his timeline - both the fish incident as well as all the 670 retweets etc. I'm guessing there was guidance to leave everything as-is, so as to avoid the appearance that stuff was being hidden/admitting guilt?

Looks like McNeil was fired in September and didn't talk about it until June.

Us and about 10 other people care about this topic. It would be like Michael Scott calling a press conference.

The facts of the case were really in front of us all. I'd say the facts were incontrovertible but I've been surprised to read the charitable interpretations of what I would think was very obvious language he used.

Why was Dan waiting so long to speak? What was he hiding?

I'm hazy on the details, but I remember some incident where Bruce guest-hosted on the Score and then Terry and Leery went out of their way to rip on him and all but say he wasn't welcome at the station, and he's been negative about the Score ever since.

As for his general rightward turn that eventually had him hosting at WIND, I can't explain that.

Is he using them as prescribed by a medical professional or are you alleging prescription drug abuse?

Eh, maybe he realized that he threw away his remaining career in a media industry with a shrinking amount of jobs as well as his post-retirement fundraising opportunities which would have maintained his prominence in circles important to him, because a guy in a specific red hat trolled him on social media, and the Audacy money and NDA are a convenient excuse to not have to admit that publicly.

I remember Wolf going nuclear on a caller while guest hosting mornings with Zach Zaidman. And it wasn't like Bernstein ripping some meatball, Wolf became unhinged. I think that was the last time he was invited back and Dan & Terry definitely had a few laughs about it.
