Terry & Dan B. won't be starting their afternoon show at their regular time this afternoon due to White Sox/Rays' baseball at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL. As soon as Chris Rongey wraps the "Xfinity Postgame" on the Chicago White Sox Radio Network from the SCORE Studios, "B & B" might have an 8-game White Sox win streak to discuss and why Sox fans might still not go to the games when they host the Mariners starting Friday at The Cell in the team's longest homestand of the season.

The guys might also have a modest 3-game Cubs' win streak to talk about as they go for the brooms themselves vs. the just as bad Padres at Wrigley Field in a ballgame that might be finishing up when Terry & Dan start up their show around 4p-ish or so.

There's also NBA Playoff talk on the menu. The Spurs won 120-111 over the Thunder last night to take a 2-0 series lead in the Western Conference Finals and have now won 20 in a row dating back to the regular season. The Celtics are on the spot tonight in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, and might not have Ray Allen available when they go for a split with the Heat in Miami. The Heat lead that series 1-0.

There's also the NBA Draft Lottery that takes place on that "Match Game"-like set at the NBA Entertainment Studios in Secaucus, NJ come 7p this eve, too. Will the Bobcats lose once again, even though they've got the most lottery balls of any of the non-playoff teams that will be represented?

Last but not least, the NHL Stanley Cup Finals start in Newark tonight as the Kings & Devils drop the puck on Game 1. NBC5 has the game, but it raises another question. Will the Cup Finals have a higher rating than the upcoming NBA Finals, quite possibly with the Heat & Spurs competing for the Larry O'Brien Trophy? For all the titles the Spurs have won in recent years, guess what? ABC bosses aren't exactly thrilled about the possibility of seeing San Antonio in the NBA Finals, even though they're the best team in my opinion left in the NBA Playoffs.

All of that follows the White Sox/Rays & Ranger later this afternoon on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com.

Boyd, my blood is boiling right now.

And instead of speculating on what they may talk about, why not just let the show happen and comment accordingly SHARK?

And knock it off with the ABC won't like the Spurs/Heat matchup bullshit SHARK. The Finals will get good ratings so please chill with that. Seriously. You have no fucking clue what the ABC bosses are thinking so please stop acting like you have some kind of insider knowledge of the situation.

SJ... ABC bosses aren't thrilled about the possibility of the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals. LOOK IT UP! They may be the closest to a dynasty in the Post-Jordan Era, but guess what? Despite constant camera shots of "Desperate Housewives" start Eva Longoria at courtside, the 2007 NBA Finals matchup between the Spurs & LeBron's Cavaliers remains the lowest-rated NBA Finals EVER! They didn't tune in for the Spurs in the Finals then, and they won't now. Don't believe me? Sam Smith, the Hall-of-Fame writer for Bulls.com, will tell you the same thing I'm telling you now. I'm not B.S.ing!

You actually are B.S.ing, and I'm sick of having this trite discussion with you.

The 2007 Finals did not have a low rating because the Spurs participated. They had a low rating because the Cavs participated. They had a low rating because the conclusion of the series was foregone. NOBODY thought the Cavs would give the Spurs a series. THAT'S why people didn't watch.

This year's Finals series, will be highly rated as long as Miami makes it. People will tune in to see the Heat in the finals...PERIOD.

Now for the sake of my blood pressure, please stop saying that shit. You are not an ABC boss. You don't know any ABC bosses. You have no insider knowledge. Stop pretending like you do.

Agree 100%. And it's not just show threads. Everything that happens ends up as "SHARK is saying this...." or "SHARK can't get a show thread on time...."

And for a couple guys it's the first thing they think of. Let it go fellas. He's a just a small potato.

Enjoy.

The San Antonio Spurs are the NBA's best team. Unfortunately, it doesn't mean people will tune in. ESPN/ABC's Jeremy Schaap reported the story the other night on "SportsCenter", and Andrew "McLovin" Perloff did "Against the Parquet" offering 5 reasons why the Spurs aren't the most exciting of teams on "The Dan Patrick Show" this morning.

SHARK

My point is, why does anyone give a flying fuck about what some jackass executive thinks about anything.

I for one won't watch the NBA finals, but I wouldn't be watching them if the fucking Bulls were playing. I don't give a shit about the NBA.

Also, the point about who gets better ratings...who cares?

Every time a non Big Market team makes a championship people say that....and they're right.

ABC and every other network ALWAYS wants the biggest possible market. They will ALWAYS be upset with San Antonio

A dull, formulaic team from a small cow town (the metroplex is far, far larger iirc) vs. a team with one player from a shrinking rust-belt town that had zero chance may a bit better explain the ratings.

The Spurs never get ratings. It then becomes an "NBA is dying" thing every time they play in the finals.

This Spurs team is alot more exciting to watch than their past incarnations. Until OkCity started playing hackasplitter last nights game was really fun to watch.

FF will inform you that Dallas/Arlington is a Big Market.

I dont know why you're making this argument.

Big Market> More TV's>Better Ratings

There are rare occassions when the nation embraces a small market team, but going in Networks will always want the big markets

Dallas-Ft. Worth is the 5th largest TV market in the country.

I'll never understand why anyone gives a shit about tv ratings of a sports event. Its always talked about? Why? If I like it I sit in front of my tv. If I dont I won't. Why would I care how much money a network is making selling commercials?
