46-36, 6 seed, lose in ECF to Miami.

Don't hate. Vegas has the O/U on Bulls wins at 48.0. SHARK's prediction is very reasonable.

Not hating. Just disagreeing. Bulls are not winning the Central division.

Is it because the new "Bench Mob" can't generate points?

OKC, the Bulls are in a bad division, quite possibly the worst in the NBA in the Central. To paraphrase a common "B & B" term, the Pistons, Cavaliers & Bucks will be "bad at basketball" again this season.

Quite frankly, I don't know what to expect from this Bulls' team, especially as long as Derrick remains sidelined trying to come all the way back from a torn ACL. Make no mistake about it though. Tom Thibodeau will have his team ready to play every night.

I believe at this point that the Pacers are a better team and will win the division.

The Bulls & Pacers will BOTH be playoff teams this season. Where they'll be in regards to the top 8 seeds in the Eastern Conference...I don't know for sure.

That's very much a part of the problem. Where is the offense going to come from? It was tough enough to score with Derrick at 100%. C.J. Watson was an underrated offensive point GUARD.

Also, the Bulls got worse defensively so they're going to have to score even more efficiently to make up for the points they'll be giving up. I just don't see it happening.

Well, you said the Bulls would win the Central division so that puts them at least 4th in the East, which I disagree with.

Quick review of my basketball "thought": DRose is a superstar in the regular season who has failed either by poor performance in big games or getting injured to come through in the playoffs.

Plus remember he's not 6ft8 and 250 so the Bulls have no chance. Also since Kevin Durant doesn't weigh 240 the Thunder have no shot at any titles. In fact they should just cancel the NBA season and give LeBron the next 5 titles. Because that is a real damn man who plays big boy basketball.

I did say that, OKC. You are correct. I'll clarify it then. Bulls #4, Pacers #5.

50/50?! Really? I know Indy's no good but they'll be better than the Bulls. C'mon now.

Aye, there's the rub. Indiana is an above average team with a really good big man. If the Bulls, without Rose, are at the Pacers level team wise....I don't think that is something to be lighting yourself on fire about. Lets say the Bulls hold the line, grind out some wins and are looking decent before Rose returns.

Is that such a bad place to be, all things considered? The Central isn't very good so I think a playoff birth isn't out of the question. The talk of "Only rings matter!" as a way to avoid discussing the NBA in depth ,which they have proven to be very ill-equipped to do, is silly and very lazy. Would you rather have the Bulls win 30 games and suck dick or would you want them to tough it out, be well coached, play good D, see some guys play and fight for a playoff spot?

Indy is actually pretty good. I think Paul George is going to take a big step forward this year. Plus Ian Mahimahi

Guys, it really is between the Bulls & Pacers for the Central. The Pistons, Cavaliers & Bucks will be competing for seats at the "Match Game"-like set in Secaucus, NJ and NBA lottery balls...again.

remember when the old try-hard bulls had a down year, and despite the efforts of jim boylan, missed the playoffs by a game or two? they hit the lottery with a 1.7% chance to get the #1 pick. they got the #1 pick, and they got derrick rose.

i want this bulls team to miss the playoffs and get back into the lottery. david stern will give us a nice little pick and quite possibly that turns into a thoroughbred to run with derrick. he's retiring in 2014 so step on this!

otherwise, you lot seem like you want them to make the playoffs so derrick can ride in on a white horse so they can collectively get kicked in the dick by the heat in the second round or whatever.... c'est la vie!

I think bumping Noah from 30 to 35 mpg will be a significant improvement on offense and offset the loss of Asik some. They will spread the ball around more like they did last year without him. There will be 10-12 very ugly games this season, but over the course of 82 games I will predict the Bulls will be right there in the top 10-12 in terms of PPP. Their defense will be top 5 again. They will be a fantastic rebounding team still. I don't see how Indiana has a significantly better team. They have the same flaws and strengths.

Unless that pick is 6' 9 and 251 Bulls have zero shot until LeBron dies.

Indy is good. So are the Bulls. I'd easily wager that the division will be won by 3 games or less.

So outside of lets say 4 teams in each conference each team should load their rosters with minimum contract guys and actively try and go 0 and 82. The NBA. It's FANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNTASTIC

Probably not too far off, given the current trend of pairing superstars with superstars with superstars.

This isn't just a current trend though. Breaking news but those Bird and Magic teams in the 80s were loaded with talent. The LeBron decision just shone a nasty light on player collusion that is happening these days. The league is deeper now that it has been in years. I don't think the Heat will repeat.

well, I guess Dan's disproving the Lovie versus Tibs comparison....

The Heat may not repeat, but it will be a surprise. They may be better than last season.

I think that's a question somewhere down the line. Who do the Bulls pair up Derrick Rose with when he does return? Even though players around the league would love to play with Derrick, the Bulls haven't exactly scored a slam dunk in free agency. Why Chicago remains a popular league destination for visiting players, but not prospective free agents is another issue for another time.

I prefer scenario #1 so the Bulls could draft 2012 NCAA Tournament MVP and Champion Cody Zeller.

Though in scenario #2 they could draft his right hand man 2012 NCAA Champion Christian Watford.

My basketball thoughts are dumb.

I have a serious Bulls question.

Is Jimmy Butler anything?
