No, but he has changed his Twitter profile from "670 Senior Columnist" or whatever to "Working on things…". Big things coming! Watch this space.

I commend Dan for not bowing down to extremists.

By bowing down, you mean apologize for threatening his children because the guy said Dan murdered a pregnant fish?

There should be a book written and a movie made. Call it 'Don't Bow Down To Extremists', the saga of a man fighting for his belief in conserve...conservative...conservatativenesh in sports.

It was a stupid firing but an overall hilarious story. It's nothing personal. It just feels like I'm at a book club and most are saying the story HAD to go down this way and it's hard to argue. A good story finishes up tidy.

It could not be more satisfying. Done in by Trumpett. Done in on Musk’s platform. Done in by a troll. Done in doing what he loved. I always figured it would be Marv Albert panty incident that no one saw coming. Instead, it was a good ole fashioned social media melt down.

Ok, rereading it changed my context of "crashing out". You meant he had an anger management episode, not a mental breakdown.

If it's true that all he had to do was apologize but he wouldn't do it, then the guy whose show used to open with "I do whatever Mitch Rosen tells me" does appear to be having some sort of meltdown. There are other possibilities, of course,

1) he already has a new gig lined up and didn't feel the need to
2) he has enough money saved up that he doesn't need the stupid job he stopped caring about 5 years ago
3) the terms of the apology were so onerous and obsequious that no one could be asked to prostrate themselves in this way and retain any dignity,

but in all of this, I'm sticking with "he's not acting like himself."

He has massive mental health issues. It is obvious. I feel bad for him and the Pike.

Being a dick isn't really a mental heath issue. He's always been this person. He felt more and more comfortable saying the quiet parts out loud.

I'd give him a pass on that. They might have asked him to disassociate.

I am curious what the apology would have looked like. A simple “I let my temper (or a few drinks) get the better of me” would seem to have sufficed. Maybe they also said no more X.

Wow, okay I was wrong....I cannot believe he got fired over a twitter argument about a fish.

4) the idea of apologizing - even indirectly - to a subhuman MAGA was a bridge too far.

How am I supposed to explain it to my Children?

You can tell them they aren't coming for them.

North: “I will not accept $800k per year”
Mac: “Her outfit looked like she was going to the AVN awards”
Bernstein: “Want your kids involved?”

The Score has had some interesting departures.

First the conservatishness MAGAs came for Bernstein and I said nothing.

That is not possible anymore. MAGA has stained every part of our society and they continue to do so.

MAGAts are like a virus, infecting everything, and no one seems to care. Most people aren't even noticing, let alone trying to eradicate the virus.

It’s absolutely insane. Of all the enemies he made, of all the things he said, it was a possibly pregnant pike that sealed his fate. A fucking fish killed Dan Bernstein.

I'm not following you at all. He hasn't been around since it happened. As far as the incident, he lost his temper and it isn't like that's never happened. It's just that this time, Murphy's Law took over.
