well genius i think you figured it out: it's the text line. Maybe your first clue should've been she says it's the text line

now, that is one medium you can't stalk her on, so you will have to take her word on the degree/volume of that criticism

I don't know what texters are saying or what numbers of negative feedback she gets. If you know, please share. Thank you.

Anthony Herron in for Lelia today. She is apparently the color commentator for the Sky and is working the game tonight.

In this case I don't mind Herron acting as though he is hosting solo. Harris talks too fast and sounds like a spazz.

I am not complaining about her not being there. But the Sky have a home game tonight and she cannot work her show that is at 10am? thats pretty weak

Tuned in for a little bit. If you think Leila is bad driving a show, Harris is beyond awful. Like a bumbling fool idiot.

Just let Ant Herron do a solo show today.

I don't think she realizes how people with 8-4 type jobs function with having to multi-task, handle unexpected issues, etc. She would probably say this is show prep and she is working to be ready for the broadcast. This is similar to the NBC Sports anchor where she has to leave before show transition, spend hours at the studio for 3 minute update and she would say watching sports is her job and helped get her ready for the 3 minutes she had to show highlights that most people were already aware of..but, in her world, she needed to watch sports all night and have production meetings to give that 3 minute update so professionally each night.

My only ask, and I think it will probably not be granted, is that they don't talk WNBA. The problem is both of them like it, will try to promote it now that the Score has some games and also use it to bring it in their social justice talk.

The folks in this thread seem to dislike her on air. So why complain when she is not on air?

I was happy to find out she was not there, until I heard Harris driving the show. BRUTAL.

And it is pretty weak. You have a morning show that you cannot do because of something at like 6pm tonight?

Maybe she should start to realize why people are critical of her.

There are many reasons to criticize her, I don't think 'entitled and lazy' is up there.

It's like asking why baseball players are paid more than teachers. Though we disagree, Leila has established herself as talent, a scarce resource who shouldn't have to take on additional work if she doesn't want to.

You could argue she should want extra reps (as long as she was paid for both, we don't know that though) but it's not analogous to an 8-4 day job

Like I said, I disagree that Mitch Rosen thinks Leila is uniquely talented, but he does.

you folks here who think the radio talent should be taking side jobs (maybe even for free) and not taking days off don't know what you're talking about

I never said she shouldnt work and take days off. Just questioned why in the world you would need a day off when you have a game to do like 8 hours later?

Leila must be getting a lot of hate mail or reading this message board.

She went out of her way at least 3x on Monday's show to mention the hate that she receives. Also, probably 3 separate mentions of people hating woman. And a segment (actually 2-3) with Sarah Spain where people are being accused of being racists, bigots, etc.

Great show, but she loves those listeners!

That sucks she has to go through that, but good news for you that your mail is being delivered even after writing the address with lipstick

Does it suck that say , Colin Cowherd has to go through that ? Clay Travis? Skip Bayless?

Name the women who can talk sports without embarrassing themselves every five minutes. I realize it's graded on a curve but she's definitely in the upper 20% percentile. Everybody deserves some shit talk, but the amount her and Laurence get here compared to that inanimate object sitting next to Mully is weird. So she can't drive a show. Oh, the humanity!

I'd be interested to see what they could do with a regular show but recently Ruthie Polinsky and Courtney Cronin have both been great in hosting shifts. Similarly to Leila, I don't think either had a background in radio so I don't see a reason they couldn't perform at least equally well. They were also better at reporting and TV.

Polinsky is miles ahead of Rahimi as a host--and with far less experience.

I've heard less of Cronin, but she's also vastly superior to Rahimi even though she is pretty annoying on Around the Horn. At least Cronin is consistently coherent and mostly rational in addition to being one of the better Bears beat reporters.

Agreed.

Both would be infinitely better than Rahimi.

When you have to resort to name-calling vs. just having a conversation, it's a pretty good sign that of a bad argument.

maybe it's a physical limitation. She clearly struggles to talk (you'd think that'd be a prerequisite for a radio show, but I'm not a 'bench developer') and maybe literally cannot call a basketball game hours after a four hour show.

When she worked for NBC, she constantly mentioned all of the production meetings she has and prep to do her broadcasts.

I'm guessing, but pretty sure she would the same is true for these games.

you folks here who think the radio talent should be taking side jobs (maybe even for free) and not taking days off don't know what you're talking about

I never said she shouldnt work and take days off. Just questioned why in the world you would need a day off when you have a game to do like 8 hours later?

Because she can. 1/2 my office is taking a 4 day weekend. Why do they need a day off when they're already getting Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off? SAD!

If she was just taking a day off then there would be no need to announce it as she cannot be here today because of having a Sky game tonight. All the hosts take days off and are gone for a variety of things. Just don't make it seem like you cannot do both things in the same day.
