The best part is that Bird didn't play da right way at all. I love the story about how he told some guy "I got you a Christmas present," shot a three over him, and said "merry fucking Christmas."

That's awesome.

I tend to agree. There has to be some personal component to this for him. I can't think of any other reason to keep talking in circles about this for months on end.

You think it involves CAMP?

See, you've said this more than once. It's one thing for him to have guilt over being a self-loathing bigot, as he's actually displayed racist tendencies on his show many times over.

But you're basically accusing Bernstein himself of being a pedophile. That's a serious accusation to throw out there dude. Part of me believes you want this to be true. You've said it several times now, and I think it's just a strange thing to throw out there without having anything to back it up with.

I don't think he's made that accusation. More likely would be, say, that he knew a camp counselor who did something bad, and he didn't do enough to stop him.

Apparently, there are some that don't get the message at (Un)Happy Valley, PA regarding what the NCAA did today to Penn State football. Feast your eyes at this:

Maybe he saw something at camp or suspected something, never said anything about it, and has regretted it ever since. You could substitute coach, family member, etc., for camp.

Not to speak for Denis, but I think he might be saying the same sort of thing I'm saying.

You know what is gonna end up happening is one of two things. The remaining three potential perps in this saga all say they knew nothing, or someone flips on the other two and the Paterno legacy. My guess is the FBI may still end up getting in on the fun.

CH has got it right, and I am just doing my best Beardown impression with wild speculation. I think somewhere in his past an event like this touched his life, no pun intended of course.

There's still very much a criminal investigation in the Penn State scandal. I think the next shoe to drop regards who else will face criminal charges and eventually join creepy Jerry Sandusky in prison.

However, those big dumb black football players are expected to be criminals anyway, so fuck it - just throw it out the window and concentrate on what the big dumb black guy does on the field.

B&B don't realize sometimes how unintentionally racist they are.

Very true assessment, Kid.

JORR was right in his early days where he said Bernstein openly says blacks are better at sports and comes excruciatingly close to saying Whites are smarter.

I told a story here a long time ago about one of my old Columbia radio teachers who interacted with (and hated) Bernstein. She said they were at some pickup game and she tried to strike up conversation with him by talking about how good one of the players were. Then according to her, Bernstein said, "Yeah...they're probably all gonna wind up in jail anyway."

I have absolutely no doubt that Bernstein really said that.

(stop me if you've heard this one)
Take 1 part Boers, then 1 part Bernstein, and you get ...........

Add those fuckin' Letterman cocksuckers to the bus list .... after today, gonna need a lot of buses.

And while I'm bitching, I fucking hate the fact that "buses" is spelled as "buses", not "busses", which it should be.

Thank you.

Well, it sounds to me to as if nobody's getting it through their thick skulls that the NCAA severely punished Penn State football today. It's the defiance & arrogance following what NCAA President Mark Emmert announced this morning that's really puzzling.

Strong words from Terry.

Get a load of this idiot who just called. "Where was the NCAA when Sandusky was havin' his little party?" Well, you see, the thing about a cover-up is that it's hard to act quickly, because it's being covered up.

This is also unchartered ground by the NCAA. Their punishment of Penn State football screams of lack of institutional control, something I've heard for quite sometime. It's not the death penalty, but it's something close to it.

Quite frankly, I wish Penn State football would go away completely. No one is going to care about HC Bill O'Brien and the guys who may have had nothing to do with this scandal, but they're paying the price nevertheless.

I can't pretend what Dan's secret motivation is for this over the top stuff? Perhaps, simply a healthy love of innocent kids and thats why he helps with camp and cancer etc? That said, getting so pissed and over the top with university related people reacting negatively to what most agree is a sever punishment is odd and unnecessary after today on Chicago radio in my opinion.

Same shit happened when Knight got fired and would likely happen if Coach K went down.

Has anyone asked Dan on the show or any other avenue specifically to explain exactly why his passion on this is so high?

Bernstein needs a vacation in a bad way - a LONG vacation. This show has become abysmal with the constant Penn State talk, and I don't see an end point to it. I can't imagine that the rest of the show participants are really supporting this programming direction, but they probably are afraid to say anything like Dan McNeil freely does during transition -- that's some good stuff hearing him say what's on most people's minds here.

Of all the great content and tidbits from the Gabe Carimi interview they play an obviously uncomfortable Carimi answering Spiegel's unnecessary PSU question.

It's like a car crash. I cannot stop listening despite bad it is. Literally the same shit over and over and over. I'm gobsmacked that two human beings are this ignorant as to how this comes across. It's so fucking bad it's just comical at this point.

(I'm not actually raging when I type this ... it just irks the piss out of me as a convention of the odd and irregular language that is English)

You have one bus, you have multiple buses.

You have one fuse, you have multiple fuses .... not to be confused with "fusses".

One would think 'buses' and 'fuses' should rhyme, which they don't.

Instead, 'buses' rhymes with musses, fusses, trusses, cusses, etc.

It's not a perfect argument (I'm aware of the holes that are easy to point out).

Doesn't mean it doesn't piss me off. Then again, what doesn't?

In closing: Fuck Penn State.

Bernsy does need a breather, but that's not my call. Would you like to hear "Laurence, Laurence, Laurence" as Bears' head coach Lovie Smith would say sitting alongside Boers? That's probably what you'd get if Bernsy takes off tomorrow. I don't think anyone here wants that, let alone solo Holmes come 6P.
