I'm thinking if the NCAA is going to ever administer "punishment" for recruiting violations, gambling or whatever, they have to do something here. I mean this is infinitely worse than any of that stuff.

The show is officially dead to me.

I finally thought the guilty verdict would begin a downturn in Penn State talk. Bernstein makes it known this is just a "puncuation point".

If it's Penn State you're referring, it's lack of institutional control. The NCAA might still go after Penn State for that.

Of course it's worse than any of that stuff. That's why the NCAA should stay out of it. It's far beyond their purview.

Then bears fans should be punished for Sam Hurd.

The Chicago media should be punished for harboring the likes of Rob Goldman.

Let's apply Dan's remaining talking points to a standard bell curve. We shall use Lipid's suggestion of a "Punctuation Point" as a Mean. I would surmise we are still in 2 standard deviations from said mean territory. Need that damned curve to tighten up quick.

Creedence, Ben Harper, Stones all available for easy listening right down the dial. You know where SHARK.

How is that illogical? The NCAA isn't designed to handle something like this. It's like saying the carpenter's union should have disciplined John Wayne Gacy.

Well, there's also 780 WBBM-AM/105.9 WCFS-FM for news beyond creepy Jerry Sandusky, plus there's Garry Meier on 720 WGN Radio building a bridge to another Cub loss vs. the surprising Mets & Roe Conn on 89WLS if this show continues to get stupid.

SHARK, which one of the stations you mentioned would play Creedence, Ben Harper, and the Rolling Stones.

I don't think any station is playing music down the AM dial.

No kidding! I'm old enough to remember when 670 The SCORE's former selves as WMAQ "Made You Rich" playing country music, not to mention WLS was known as "Musicradio". HONEST! Back in the '70s, AM radio could get away with playing music.

I think there are still such outlets though. They are Radio Disney 1300 AM & WGCI 1390 AM. Both play music on the AM band here.

Obviously he would have been thrown out of the union. Do you think he would have been allowed admittance to union functions?

Aha, bad word choice on my part if "down the dial" only references AM. Hadn't looked at it like that.

 I don't know. I don't think he had to be thrown out. He wasn't really in a position to take any jobs.

Penn State football is fucked for a good long time without the NCAA lifting a finger.

Not on the original Game Plan, but SCORE Sports Legal Analyst Eldon Ham is on the Home Run Pizza Hotline discussing...you guessed it...creepy Jerry Sandusky and the verdict that came down Friday night.

More unresponsible, baseless speculation from Bernstein. He has made a habit of doing this throughout this story.

This was allowed to get as bad as it got because nobody wanted to endanger the football money machine in any way. I think a one-year suspension would be fair, to take away their precious football revenue after all the years that they sacrificed children's lives in its name. Let it ruin the school and show everyone else that this is what you get when all that matters to you is football.

I will say from this show alone I've learned a hell of a lot about food.

If I heard correctly and Bernstein said you should cook chicken for an hour then you didn't learn anything good.

I disregard his chicken advice, but the fish notion as well as the "guys who move shit around for appearances sake" was solid.
