I remember Dennis Rodman telling every news outlet he could how much he loved his child. He put a tatoo of her on his arm for everyone to see. He cried on television about being a father...then it came out that he hadn't seen the kid in years.

Bill Mc Carteny was a vocal Promise Keeper of a father while his daughter was being impregnated by a fesitval of nations at Colorado.

I know nothing about Wade's parenting skills. I am naturally skeptical but am frequently incorrect.

I wouldn't take his being granted custody instead of an unstable woman to be an indicator of his abilities.

Yeah, Irish-Catholics are funny that way.

I don't think it can be denied that divorce compromises the ability to parent effectively...not negates, but certainly compromises.

I don't think divorce invalidates his advice.

I remember Wade back in college. The tv always seemed to show that girlfriend, who was his fiancee even back in college. I thought it was an indicator that he was a good guy as he was sticking with someone who he loved even though she had modest looks and his career was exploding.

I've had one ask for a divorce on several occasions

You've only been here about 6 months.

This is nothing for Beardown. He's not even trying on this one.

Dont you kinda get what he's saying though? If you include the other paragraph? It rings true for quite a few people I know.

I know quite a few people like that who aren't Irish-Catholic.

And that 2nd paragraph is a completely different train of thought than the 1st.

Totes bro!

He was the good guy doing everything right. The anti Lebron-Carmelo.

Then he got rich and said fuck it.

Yeah, that's true

Reading that, several people I grew up around came to mind.

The implication of his thought was that married parents are inherently superior to divorced parents. That's a spectacularly uninformed and obnoxious notion.

I'm saying my husband travels more than Wade and makes a lot less than him. I'm aware my kids have different life than most other kids and our situation is not ideal for anyone in the family. We do what we can. I would hope that people don't judge him as being uninvolved, absentee, or a bad father.

Don't worry. We are not judging him. I think we all have a pretty good understanding of why he stays away.

After seeing Wade date Star Jones it's not his parenting that I would question. I think I understand what Mully was trying to say. In an ideal world having 2 parents living in the same household and sharing responsibilities is probably better for the child. However every marriage isn't like that. I would wager very few are.

Would a mother who is traveling 100 days of the year with kids 10 and under, write a book about motherhood?

I'm surprised no one's brought up all the DL rumors.

Just being seen with Star Jones usually means that you're living a double life.

Yep, that's about the terminology I was looking for.

That's just the nature of Irish-Catholics. That's how they are. I've known a few.

Love is an act of the will. A choice. You never fall out of it. You opt out by choice.

Dwayne Wade has FULL custody of his kids.
