Then they'd be hypocrites. Especially Bernstein and his crew. Cuz isn't Bernstein the guy who loves reading the deadspin stories when they publish an ESPN memo? Or when deadspin has some dirt on ESPN people, don't we basically hear Bernstein jerk off on the air as he reads the story to us? You know it's true. So no, the Score isn't above this sort of thing. And Becasue Bernstein loves gossip radio, all of his clones love to do gossip radio as well.

Fact remains that somebody from the Score called Larry "creepy" and called Spiegel an "Emotional wreck". If Bernstein had a story of an ESPN employee saying these things about another ESPN employee, he'd make a 5 hour show out of it.

I am El Furpyo and I created the account not just to defend Spiegs but to start posting to this board o'malcontents more generally...I"m a Score Lifer (remember listening in my car the day Ditka was fired) and I just think that the reflexive hostility to Spiegs is goofy, given that he is a good host and Mac clearly likes working with him. If you guys love Mac, you should at least try to love Spiegs cos he ain't going anywhere...

Welcome to the board, Mrs Spiegel. It's your mistake to consider me an "insider" because I've never claimed to be one. I've always denied it when accused. I've always said that I don't know anybody in Chicago media. Good lord willing, I'll never meet one.

Your first two posts were you defending Spiegel and telling everybody that they have to love him. Nobody was bashing Spiegel in this thread. So you pretty much gave yourself away.

I love that posting defending Spiegs gets me tagged as Mrs. Spiegs...fuckin hilarious.

I jumped in on defending Spiegs not cuz I'm his wife or it was in the thread but because this board has 2 knee-jerk positions that I've just found baffling: 1) disliking Spiegs (or thinking he somehow doesn't "measure up" compared to the crapfest that Mac used to host with at ESPN) and 2) dismissing Lawrence Holmes, who I also think brings a lot of good radio to the Score. I just wanted to point out the goofy way some of you had the cool kids table set up in this little junior high boy-land we're in here...believe me, I will defend/attack here whomever I please, and I am in no way affiliated with the Score, its parent company, or related affiliates...

Besides, you should know by now BearDown, I am...Keyser Soze.

That's pretty awesome. Do you ever listen to the Studs Terkel Show reruns on WFMT? I don't know if they podcast them; they should, but WFMT is about as much on the forefront of technology as you would expect them to be. There's some good stuff on there sometimes.

I don't think disliking the arrogant-without-justification Spiegel is a knee-jerk position. And dismissing Larry's reeeeeeeely, reeeeeeeely boring dorkfest isn't so crazy either.

No on just comes on here to blindly defend Meat without having some kind of relationship with him. He has acted like a pompous asshole on quite a few occasions and any fallout he has received from that is warranted.

I'm wondering if Buster missed that post where Big Fan said that his post came from the Score. I'm also wondering if Buster hasn't seen this thread.

Laurence was bitching during transition about Saunders being a disappointment when he finally met him in person. Unfortunately there was no confirmation on whether Holmes was THIS close to coming to blows with him.
