I'm fine with Bulls conversation, LongTimeGuy. Notice what I wrote. "Intense Xs and Os." It's boring. It's boring with most sports. This is a very provincial town and when the Bulls aren't good, very few care. Breaking down out of town games/rosters, etc. isn't going to get me ratings.
There is nothing more boring to me than Bears training camp talk. Yet for years the score would subject people to endless talk about some obscure wide receiver or running back and how they looked good in camp. You yourself engaged in "Countdown to Bourbonnaise" talk as though it was some sort of a sports awakening. Basketball is a more exciting and relevant sport than bears training camp talk. Thats my point. Its also more relevant than fishing. You understand the ratings aspect more than I but basketball during a period in which nothing else is going on has to be more interesting. You may not like the sport and that is fine thats your choice but some of the topics discussed are not more relevant yet often times they are discussed. Training camp football was so important to programming that the score would go on location just to be closer to the action. Fantasy football is often boring sports talk in my opinion yet it is often discussed. Is that more relevant than basketball also?
