April ratings for anyone needing a refresher:
For the April period ratings for Men 25-54 between these two stations, the ratings looked like this:
6:00am-Midnight -- WSCR-AM #5; WMVP #8
Weekday Mornings* -- WSCR-AM #5 (Mully & Hanley); WMVP #3 (Mike & Mike)
Weekdays Middays* -- WSCR-AM #5 (McNeil & Spiegel); WMVP-AM #11 (Carmen & Jurko)
Weekdays Afternoons* -- WSCR-AM #7 (Boers & Bernstein); WMVP-AM #2 (Waddle & Silvy)
(*Times above based on WSCR/WMVP show times, not by Nielsen dayparts.)
Dan went on one of his "if you don't like what we have to say, don't listen...there are alternatives" rants today.
I texted in and wrote "by looking at the last ratings book, people are following your advice".
The text I got back?
"Thank Sox baseball for that".
I knew that would be the excuse when I first saw the April ratings. Anyone who knows what the hell they're talking about isn't going to buy what he's selling. I'll be interested to see if Berns rides that shit through the entire baseball season. And then I hope the ratings still suck ass in Sept, Oct, and Nov to see what excuse he pulls out of his ass. I think W&S kinda suck but at least they don't scream at Chicago fans for wanting to hear Chicago sports talk and actively encourage fans to listen to other stations. It comes as no surprise that they're winning.
BTW, I think it's kind of telling that, even on a message board that discusses B&B regularly, no one bothered to make a show thread yesterday.
