A business relies on customers to continue in business. If no one was listening, they wouldn't have 340 or so affiliates, sell ad time, & they would go out of business.

FSN is filler.

Amy Lawrence is on a national network and has a higher profile than Mike, if that lends any perspective.

No doubt it's a beautiful place, but it's not a large market. Portland would be the largest market in that state, and even that's a small market in this country.

I don't listen to North anymore & his relevance is no where close to what it once was. I'm not talking about the content or quality of his show. The fact is, North does morning drive on a national syndicated radio station owned by Fox who has about 340 affiliates who PAY FOX to air their radio content. They are in business because they have 340 affiliates who have listeners & who are willing to pay them. They sell ad time because they have listeners. Its no different than The Score with CBS Sports Radio...except the FSR lineup is better with Dan Patrick & Jay Mohr.

Chicago and NYC are the biggest markets, I get that, but 95% of this country doesn't live in those two cities.

I don't have a clue as to his total number of listeners. If you think that's a high number then great. However, It has nothing to do with North. I'm sure Finji would draw similar numbers on that network. And I'm sure Norths compensation reflects that. Woo-hoo.

I have no idea how many listeners FSR has nationwide. It can be difficult finding ratings for syndicated shows.

The thing about this incarnation of North and others like it is it is just background noise. Not appointment listening at all. The only time I listen to national sports radio is when the score stream has to go to CBS radio. There are likable guys on it and I listen passively but I could not even tell you one of the guys names. Maybe Ferell.
