It's just a little jarring to see a board meme out in the wild. It'd be like going to the store and overhearing an old lady arguing over coupons that the expiration date reads just fine.

a big shame that it's 2025 in that if this happened 20 years ago Dan would call out Greg's avatar and say he didn't make sure his wife kept fit

So how does this work? His tweet meant he had to be relieved of his currently assigned duties but he will be assigned other duties with the organization?

Just keep raising money for the charity without the imprimatur derived from being part of the Board of Directors.

"Hi, I'm Dan Bernstein, I have no role with this charity but I'd like you to donate to it".

“Hi, you and I have worked together for years raising money for a charity. I hope you’ll continue to support the charity even though I’m no longer legally allowed to support a charity for which I’m not a Director.”

"I got fired from Wendy's, but they still make the best chicken nuggets and you should keep on buying them". I guess that is what we are talking about how he could still work for them after getting fired.

He worked for them or served on their board helping raise donations?

The proper CFMB db (douchebag) db (Dan Bernstein) response has two posts.

Post 1: Great show today.

Post 2: Yup!

Wasn't there a post in here about him extolling the virtues of SSRIs? Did it get deleted? I don't think I dreamed it.

He indicated Thursday he has found SSRI's to be personally helpful.

Sertraline, yeah. You also can't quit it cold turkey or you have seizures or something.

I do not endorse what Dan did but he deserved better from a charity to which he gave so much effort and dedication.

If he believes that much in the charity, he can still be a great influence on it.

The charity that fired him over a tweet?

The charity has made their position clear. Is he just supposed to keep working for them?

He can choose to if he likes, they also have the right to fire his ass. What a country!!!!

I guess you'll find out if he really is that into the charity or maybe just like being on the Board of Directors.

The posting history of the reddit user who may or may not be Douchebag indicates he is an alcohol-drinking, Trump and MAGA-hating, Stoolie who listens to Joe Rogan and likes the Bears, Blackhawks and hockey in general.

If that's not hitting to all fields I don't know what is.

Someone should tell that guy it's racist to be a hockey fan. That cancels out his Trump hating.

Have not listened to either sports radio stations this year, not because of sports personalities, all the Chicago teams are just unwatchable, I think I am a lot with others having Bears fatigue(won the offseason again, just show me the results).

That said, twitter/X has brought me here multiple times. Almost all of Dan's "drama" were self inflicted on twitter

I find this all hilarious and predictable. Mac wants acceptance from a guy who hates him for Mac is insecure and has zero self-esteem, Dan's tweeting "want your kids involved," some saying oh it actually meant XYZ.... Danny Parkins saying cancel culture doesn't exist and now Dan getting cancelled. It is all hilarious.

Its like the NBA offseason, the drama, etc, is for better than the actual product.

dan Bernstein of 2005 would love this and be laughing. Something broke him, don't think politics, but something sure did. Oh well, he will be back on the radio Monday next week and by Wednesday no one will be talking about this.

But this has been fun.

I think I said it before in the context of retirement/"early buyout," but when Dan is gone, he's gonna be gone gone. He's not gonna try to hustle some independent-contractor Substack gig, or start a podcast, or be a guest on other people's, or really resurface in any way for any sort of cobbled-together third act. He'll just disengage from talking about sports and fade away and that'll be it. I think I said at the time he'd just settle into some NFP sinecure where he'd get paid for being Dan Bernstein, but that appears to be off the table now.

Maybe he can do public relations for the Vernon Hills school district. Now there's a bit.
