"That smoke." It is a Goff tweet.

That's gonna be his out: "I was hacked." The proper authorities have been notified. He backtraced it and reported it to the cyber police. Consequences will never be the same.

EDIT: my actual theory for this is too depressing

The “ smoke” comment is objectively hilarious.

At least Bernstein didn’t name any of the guys kids publicly.

You're right. This is much worse than Goff going after his Twitter replies and making fun of the way people look in their profile picture.

Why on Earth would Bernstein write this doxxing shit ---- and involving his kids? He sounds like he has the emotional maturity of a middle-schooler.

Five digit address in the South suburbs. I remember when Boers had to explain to dan how to say a five digit address, i.e. two thirteen forty-six as opposed to twenty one three forty-six.

Nope, he said he's outside Lake Zurich (and fought with his wife to make sure they didn't send their kids to Stevenson? Oh no, anything but that!).

Oh, okay. I can't really speak to how one says a five digit address in a northern Illinois subdivision. Maybe Terry Boers knows.

It takes about as long as one takes to type a name and hit enter to find out where this guy lives.

Wherever he is, he seems to be profoundly unhappy about it, because whenever he's not bothering Dan Bernstein, he's bothering JB Pritzker and complaining that his property taxes would be lower in Tennessee.

Right.

Given the ages involved here, it can be reasonably assumed that Bernsie/Dan could infer that the kids don’t live at the Messenger estate, which would force the reader to assume the “kids” comment ties immediately back to the “are you worried/bad enemy” comments. QED.

As the late, great Norm MacDonald once said ... the worst part is the hypocrisy.

I've avoided listening to Dan for many years now, but admittedly was a regular listener to B&B. As has been said, the turn from a semi-intellectual approach to sports (with plenty of goofy humor tossed in) to full on determiner-in-chief-of-all-things-right-and-wrong really happened during the whole Penn State meltdown. He spent so much time citing other peoples important work, then having them on to praise their work ethic and fearlessness_in_reporting, that he fully convinced himself that he was a big player in not letting the light dim on the horrid things that were allowed to happen there. Before, during and after the Penn State stuff he was/is a miserable prick as equally stubborn and unable to actually discuss anything as those who he relentlessly mocked and ridiculed (mostly on the opposite side of the aisle).

He has never been able to process things that have been said, or actions taken, with any sort of nuance if that person wasn't "on his team" .... immediate cancel/termination/set on fire if a white guy with a southern accent was the subject.

So while many here can debate his intent/wording, the sheer hypocrisy of the guy to type out threats like that (knowing he's the same guy that will immediately "alert the proper authorities, that's not funny or cute") is perhaps the "worst part" to me. You just can't have it both ways, not when you've spent so much of your on-air/online career doing the opposite.

Well said, and I think the hypocrisy became evident as he essentially torpedoed Who You Crappin' by reading and allowing obvious partisan craps while stating they weren't allowed.

I'm sorry, I know why they aren't, but I find it it amusing that this show, which has opinions on everything and tells "hard truths" even when uncomfortable can't address why Dan is not on the air. Again, I know why....but, of all shows, this is the one I would expect to be able to take on the tough topics, especially if we're talking about bullying, doxing, etc.

Where's Leila on this? Does silence mean acceptance? Same for Harris....Same crew who talks down with condescending attitude, has called their audience racists, sexists, or bigots, now can't call out other bad behavior by their own show? Cowards?

I'm being sarcastic, just like they don't comment on Leila's firing despite having opinions on every other media story, but is it too much to say what Dan said was not reflective of how he

The reading part was the death blow to the segment: Dan made his entire cadre of college-educated sycophants the stars of the segment, but they were all weird dorks like him who didn't want the pressure of reading a script on air, so they penned long missives about how Bill O'Reilly was a hypocritical jerk or whatever. In that shift we completely lost the hilarity of the shotgun cocking at a fumbling caller, the guy who would do the bad accent, or the genuine joy from Dan and Terry when a caller would hit one deep. The sprinkling on top of this sundae was Terry being allowed to ISDN all the time, so we eventually just got Dan reading emails from his middle management fans while Terry zoned out in his den.

There was an old thread called "This Great Email From Rudy" where we all agreed it was Dan, but then I think an actual Rudy turned up on Twitter alongside Schmutzie and other chronics.

Maybe I’m misremembering, but I thought Bill on Capitol Hill was the worst abuser of the write-in craps in the Bernstein-voice category.

This monster has the audacity to want lower taxes?

He deserves his doxxing and to have his children harmed.

Rat, you have to understand there is an contingent of folks around here who take offense to people who complain about Illinois and specifically Chicago. As if long time residents are just supposed to take the crappy roads, poor schools, and high taxes without recourse. The internal migration numbers in this country show that places like Illinois are undesirable to MANY.

His name is Greg Messenger, he's not evidence, he's a man, he has a name and he has six vehicles. He was asked if he wanted his children involved and now he's dead, like Bernstein's career that he still has.

The classics from B&B are great. Too bad Bernstein hasn't done anything worth listening to since 2015. He used to be entertaining enough that even if you hated him, you could listen in and be entertained. Now he has the entertainment value of an NPR broadcast.
