That's just what I was thinking, yeah, the "silence speaks volumes." Also the fact that Terry is, if not circling the drain, at least getting acquainted with certain gravitational properties of water, and wouldn't be foreclosing on future career opportunities by standing up for the person he called his real friend when he retired.
