So he really doesn't think the average Bear fan named Bob from the 815 is an idiot? Good to know.

Agreed.
If you are sarcastic all of the time...attempts at sarcastic humor lack volume.

"Don't bring me down with bad phone calls..."

Who are the members of the Dan McKlan? I'd like to see these imaginary lists SomeDay.

Almost every criticism this show faces is dismissed as a "bit."

Blame the hosts and producers...they created this mutated baby.

I think every host would tell you that Bear season is their easiest time of year and that Mondays after a game are the easiest day of the week. No programming required. Just analyze a few notes taken on the game and open the lines to callers.

On the other hand, B and B have almost no programming any day of the year and pretty much just reflect on yesterday's news.

I think what Joe was trying to say is that no, he does not believe that Dan thinks his work his hard but yes, he does despise taking calls on Mondays

I think he loves taking Bears calls in the same way that people who can't stand Bernstein love listening to his show.

Some people just like to be angry.

You alright JORR? 63 posts in and you state this as your point? "kidding on the square". Is that like "Marching on the Square"?

I think they want goofy callers. They say "these callers are idiots" and complain about them, but they allow the screeners to keep putting them on. In that way it's a bit.

But the repeated complaints about Rongey having "the worst job in the world" or "callers named Bob are extra stupid" or "callers from the 815 area code are even dumber than Chicagoans", these ideas and concepts have become so incorporated into the show that I think they've actually accepted them. I don't believe that intellectually, li'l danny actually thinks people named Bob are goofier than anyone else, but the next time a moron named Bob calls in, that will be his first thought.

You know, if that article were written by Joe Dokes, it would obviously come across as parody. But if you listen to B&b everyday and you hear him say stuff like "Callers named Bob..." or "Poor Rongey" all the time, it casts the writing in a different light. I think he feels like he's in a war zone and it's his job to educate the mentally deranged Bears fans who just watched a loss the night before and are angry at being told for the millionth time how fucking great Jay Cutler is.

Interesting. So B&B are like the last season of Seinfeld? The parody is gone because the joke has been used so often it's no longer funny? Pondering if a breakup fixes this issue.

Yeah, he's full of shit.

I agree with JORR. This was a serious article written so fans of the show can defend it as satire. The reason it's obvious that he was serious has already been covered by guys like JORR and Doug here. He consistently treats fans like shit on air and easily generalizes entire fan bases as morons.

If someone constantly rips on something, and then writes a "satirical" article that 100% mirrors their actions, its nearly impossible to not believe there was more sincerity than satire in said article.

I love that Bernsie is using the IMU defense though. Priceless.

No. Not even close. No one else here fabricates stories about racism out of thin air.

You admittedly lied about Herb and Hood. Its not good. Now everything you post is suspect to being a complete lie.

Nope. Beardown might read into things but he never flat out makes up stories as if they actually happened.

Mac hates herb is an opinion.

Beardown tries so hard to find racial angles in ordinary situations that it pretty much is making things up that didn't actually happen. And he often states those awful opinions as fact, something you got on Ivan for doing.

Your Beardown protectionism has really been something these last few days. Clearly some of us very much disagree with your assessment of him, and it's based on years of seeing his posts. It's not a position born of ignorance. If you like him, that's fine. Some of us don't.

Yes it is. Saying there was a fight and a story behind it (which there wasnt) and saying you cant recall what it was is lying.

Yes, Beardown does that. I disagree that its the same thing as making things up. I did not get on Ivan for that. I got on Ivan for posting what he thinks and then immediately saying "I never said that" under the guise of "its all just opinions, man"

A couple months ago, someone wrote a really good post about how the entire afternoon show lives in an infinitely flexible self-constructed reality that allows them to be whatever they want, until they want to be something else. They know everything about everything, but when they're wrong, what the hell is wrong with you for listening to what they say? Goff's the NBA Insider, but come on guys, he never asked for that title. Etc. Dan's tweet reeks of that attitude.

EDIT: it was CH.

Curious Hair wrote:

They will not suffer fools who dare to dissent with their years of basketball wisdom but then again Avery Johnson did win a championship so they're idiots. Dan has thoughts on the entire world of sports until you ask him who he thinks will win a game at which point oh my God why do you even care. Jason's the NBA insider until come on guys you know he never said he was an NBA insider. It must be nice to dictate all the terms of your private radio reality.

The little kid parroting trick. Cool...

Wanna check how many times I have attacked Beardown this week vs the number of times you have defended him?

Its not a little kid parroting trick. You seem to think that you're side is righteous and mine is not. You're the one who is calling me out for disagreeing with you.

You have attacked Beardown many times in the last week. The number really doesnt matter.

Sorry, that it bothers you I disagree. And if its getting repetitive, then just ignore me.

Either way, you are the one who is not allowing someone to have an opposing opinion, not me.

 Ok Bryan. I specifically said your opinion is fine. It's no better or worse than mine, obviously. I only felt compelled to say something because I've seen you repeatedly defend Beardown to multiple posters who aren't fans of him or have something critical to say about him. That's not me telling you to not have your opinion. It's me telling you to accept that other peoples opinions differ from yours.
