Terry was the first Mariotti in town.

His job was to stir it up and in those days it didnt take much.

his relatively strongly worded opinions was why he got the Score gig.

I enjoyed Terry mocking every goofball on the internet with a column and a picture next to it. Absolutely no self consciousness by Senor Columnist.

I didn't think he just meant Internet columnists. I thought he was talking about all of them. As if his ugly ass picture wasn't next to a load of drivel for years. He seemed to be referencing himself a lot yesterday without being aware of it or acknowledging it. Like when he talked about "people" who thought the Royals prospects were going to be great. I remember him championing Moustakas.

In reality, it was not.

And for this reason, Terry often goes after columnists because he was a reporter that never made it as a columnist, which was what he always wanted to be.

He made it for a couple of years as a columnist. As I recall it was almost always a very critical column resulting in many enemies in the sports world. He's much more likeable as a radio host than I would have suspected at the time.

You are thinking of Rosenbloom. And it was Dollar Bill that got the Tribune company to take away his Hit and Run column.

The Sun Times tried Terry as a columnist, and then made him a reporter again after like 18 months. After he went full time with the Score, the Herald hired him as a columnist but that didn't pan out either.
