Bernstein: Ok (sigh), we’re going to open the phone lines
Sir (after blaming everyone but Fields): I welcome it!

Should be riveting.

As I frequently write, remember these days when Dan gives his next disingenuous thank you to the fans at an anniversary show

yeah, heard that...the sigh was meant to be heard.

must have had a rough night going to sleep...how to frame without implicating fields. a few days ago, him and loho had lots of giggles about sid luckman. "you know, sid, black people can play football too". these guys are a broken record.

Has Sid Luckman been arguing otherwise ?

Bernstein calling it the "magic blitz" when anyone with even a mild understanding of football could tell you that blitzing Love with a set of inexperienced receivers is an easy way to get pressure when the front four can't.

Brisker on with B&H and they set him up to complain about fans booing.

Not a great look.

Bernstein was pretty good on this, LoHo is at his phoniest during any discussions of what Bears fans feel, after the I Own You game he said Bears fans secretly love Rodgers because of "psychology". He seriously said that. Bernstein at least understands how the fans feel about the rivalry and why the boos happened.

The coaches have apparently failed Justin Fields by not developing the abilities he needs to be a successful quarterback.

Yep makes total sense that coaches whose livelihoods depend on developing this bum arent taking advantage of whatever it is he does well . No one is hiring Eberflus after this stop unless he is successful. . sMarT fAnS tAlK rAdIo !!!!

Little known fact: Justin Fields was fired from a minor role as a sniper in an independent movie. He got the target correctly in scope but never pulled the trigger even though that's what the script called for him to do.

bernstein using a dalai-llama boog-approved sabermetric to defend his weekly guest, ian happ. no worries....when the caller tries to respond, just cut him off.

somehow, happ's .240s batting average must cloud just how offensively efficient happ has been in 2023.

Who knows how good he could be if the coaches would only tell him not to hold on to the ball for so long and to throw it to the open receiver.

Unless they're not telling him because, well, you know...

I'm not really sure why Happ is a Cub fan whipping boy. His numbers aren't much different than Swanson or Suzuki. I sit with a guy at Wrigley who screams "I AM CRAP!" every time Happ comes to the plate. I don't really get it. He isn't a superstar, but he's a serviceable player.

There are a lot of problems with the team construction. I'm not sure Happ in left is top 10 to complain about.

I don't think anyone knows where the cradle is. Civilization may be up to 25,000 years old. Atlantis might not be a myth, there's Polynesian DNA in South America, and The Clovis people being the First Americans is now considered a joke.

They have some dummy on from KC describing Fields’ failures as a lack of running. Apparently the Fields Defense Industry is growing.

Edit: I’d also he rather he ran, but I don’t want to hear some asshole going off on Getsy while describing Fields’ greatness. Also he added some bullshit comment on him being great at OSU, which would make him the first QB to be good in college and not the NFL.

Eh. That's not a completely insane statement. The Agricultural Revolution more or less happened in that neighborhood. Also, Judeo-Christian moral philosophies are a significant portion of the foundation of Western Civilization.

They were talking to Bowen just now and Larry was asking him about QB drop back mechanics, said he "went back to his QB days" to mimic it, as if he were trying to diagnose a possible issue Fields is having
