Dan slips up right away in transition and attributes bad at bats to good pitchers.

This should be a Barry argues with Dan all day show. I feel it.

Is Barry there? Can someone call in and tell him that The Plan Sucks?

I'll have thoughts on this at a less emotional time.

Did Rozner just say that Rizzo left, not to be a jerk or because he was upset, but because he saw that everyone was busy and they probably didn't need to talk to him?

Bernstein did just say "Sometime baseball sucks, and sometimes baseball is awesome." I'm not sure if that was in reference to something specific or just the heretofore inexplicable notion that the Cubs might not win the WS.

My God, the excuse making for their beloved Cubs.

Dan Bernstein: Sometimes baseball just sucks.

Barry Rozner: Baseball is hard!!!!

Yeah, you idiots, we know. IT'S ALSO HARD FOR THE DODGERS. We know pitching is good in the playoffs. But the Dodgers found a way to hit a good pitcher in Arrietta. I mean his stuff was pretty good but they were able to get some home runs. Why can't that be expected of the Cubs?

There were pitches to hit yesterday and the Cubs missed them. Bottom line. Hill wasn't that great.

Put it this way, if the Dodgers faced Hill and the Cubs faced Arrietta yesterday, the Dodgers still would have won 6-0. And Bernstein and Barry would have said, "Arrietta is good, what are you gonna do, baseball is hard."

Because sometimes they have to face pitchers other than from the SF bullpen or Old Man Bug-Eyed Blanton.

next year, when the Cubs inevitably have success during the regular season, the chorus of "who cares" from the listeners will grow really loud.

Someone just called to ask what they thought of Roberts leaving their closer in in the ninth. Dan's reply was to say "Let me read you what Joe Sheehan said."

"Hi Dan, I have a question about last night's game and am calling to see if you can read me someone else's reply to it."

I really do like Rozner, and right there was an example why. He doesn't care what Joe Sheehan thinks... he disagrees. No one else at that station would disagree, which is sad.

Justifiably so.

And I'm not banking on inevitable success next year.

Bernstein: "The regular season determines the best team in baseball. The playoffs determine the winner of the World Series."

The 2001 Seattle Mariners are very proud of their Regular Season Championship rings.

I never heard him say that last year when the St. Louis Cardinals were the best team in baseball.

Except that's not really true. Teams make all kinds of moves to prepare for the postseason, often to the detriment of their regular season record.

Rozner has opinions for sure and is not afraid to share them. Those are admirable qualities for a guy on a sports talk station. That is where the Rozner stroke fest should end. His most disturbing quality is that he cannot objectively evaluate players or teams. He either falls in love with a player/team or hates them. So for someone he loves, he'll just make excuses when they play poorly. If he hates someone, then he calls any success luck or do to mistakes of the opponent. You should have seen him try to bash Lovie all the way to the Super Bowl. It was sad.

Then, as you may have noticed, he gets enamored with his own dumb little jokes. In his column, he would always say, "you heard it here first" or "I'll hang up and wait for my aneurysm". After a few decades of that garbage, you just hope the DH would lay him off and hire a proofreader.

Probably. Does it really matter if it's a bit or not, if the end result is Bernstein getting pissed off?

Considering the Dodgers had a MLB record 28 players on the disabled list I think it may be wrong to think the Cubs are clearly better because of regular season record.

Probably. Does it really matter if it's a bit or not, if the end result is Bernstein getting pissed off?

But he didn't get pissed so much as he was flummoxed by how preposterous the call was until the very end when it was easily dismissed as simply "a crazy person".
