You have to love Bernstein. He starts the show saying the show is open for the listeners to talk today and that it is ok to nervous talk...first caller he scolds for his opinion two times |

A Sox fan called in and said he was rooting for the Cubs. He said that you can't get farther than Game 7 of the WS, so even if the Cubs lose, it is still a good thing. Mr. "only championships matter" agreed with him. WYC Danny? |

Spiegs called him on that during Transition yesterday. Dan was starting a monologue about the Cubs season if they lose and Spiegs said "Hang on, Mr. Only Championships Matter". Dan quickly said "that still applies but it does not take away from the greatness of this season". Paraphrased. |

In addition to "ALL THAT MATTERS ARE CHAMPIONSHIPS!" didn't he also used to say that a team's season, regardless of how far theY advanced, was a failure if they didn't win a championship? That "Well, they still had a great season..." was something a championship caliber organization would never say and fans shouldn't, either? |

This is a defining show for dan. He openly stated how his joy was intensified by the station affiliation and all his incredible relationships he has created with the team. Now we hear almost one of those incredible friendships in interviews but I am sure they are great frends |
